Bring it on. Just don't make it a kiddified comedy fest.

Agreed. The games have mostly been adventure-based, and the stories in them are not usually intended for extremely young audiences. I'd suggest that if this movie gets made, they should shoot for a PG-13 rating, but more stylized than brutal. Revenge of the Sith was the opposite of that; Lucas even nicknamed it "Star Wars Goes to Hell". But a tale about Link, Zelda, and their adventures against Ganon should be a balancing act between light and dark, neither one completely dominating the other.

This would test Illumination's creative integrity. To know how to handle material respectfully. Mario was pretty spot on, so it's a start.

I expect the soundtrack will be filled with 80s music.

Given that the series takes place in its own world, and not ours, I wouldn't expect them to use any conventional music at all. Maybe create some new orchestral stuff though - that would be cool. I do want them to adapt the games' main theme, though...

Which licensed songs will this one have? I’m gonna recommend “Treasure” by Bruno Mars and “Maps” by Maroon 5. Zelda is about treasures and maps, right?

And John Cena as Link of course

I still remember when the gaming community went nuts over that Metroid reveal. The game's manual even referred to Samus as "he", to avoid spilling the secret. I was really young at the time, so my specific memories are kinda hazy, but folks I'd heard of were clearly shocked over the whole thing.

A proper Zelda movie is a much harder film to pull off, as it would take the material seriously and tell a true and sincere action-adventure fantasy story. Illuminations filmography is made up entirely of comedies aimed at a slightly younger primary audience than a proper Zelda film would be. I have my doubts they'll be able to deliver a Spider-Verse type animated film the subject matter deserves.

Fair enough, but maybe this is their moment to mature and grow.

It's a challenge for the studio I hope they step up to and deliver on.

I’m hoping they do a new story and give it a D&D Honor Among Thieves vibe in term of the humor. Then sprinkle it with call backs to the games.

I hope they avoid that. In my opinion, it makes Link seem too selfish and egotistical. One of the constant themes through most of the games was Link's selfless behavior, especially when it concerned Zelda's safety and rescuing Hyrule from Ganon's grasp. He wasn't the type to "play the hero" for vain reasons, or seeking childish attention. It was just part of his enduring character.

What if they so it for an after credits scene?

Bummer hearing that the Star Fox movie was cancelled. Of all the Nintendo properties, that was the one I wanted to see adapted the most.

I still haven't seen it yet, but I thought it was probably going to do decent business. But I had no idea how close to the stratosphere it would get; the film is almost literally a shooting star at this point.

I would love it if they use "Excuse Me Princess!" at least once.
