It looks good.

I played the demo and it's fun. They give you a good amount of desert to drive or walk/run around it, with a day/night cycle in Sandland. You have a motorbike, a tank, and a robot mech. Much like in Dragonball, you throw out a capsule and it forms the vehicle out of thin air, expanding it to vehicle scale. Your character can punch and kick, etc.

I will be honest, I had to shut off the voices, as they wouldn't stop talking.

The enemies can be tough. It reminds me of Mad Max, but with cartoon graphics.

I think this game has potential. 59.99 is reasonable. Does the game push the PS5 graphics? There is a cool desert heat wave effect. Otherwise, I'm not seeing amazing visuals in the demo but that's fine as it's a cartoon style game.

April 26th, 2024, same date as the release of Stellar Blade for Sand Land.

The Demo was kind of fun and interesting. Only concern is some invisible walls. You try to go somewhere, but are blocked, but could just be the demo.

I like how you can switch to any vehicle at any time. I'd like a flying vehicle.

Looks like no special or steel editions at retail in the West huh? Bandai Namco store just seems to have regular and a version with a statue.

I think this game will get a bump up in sales considering it's Dragonball creator's very last project sadly, at 68 I think he was.

Its biggest competition is Stellar Blade, same day release.

For the demo, I had to mute the dialog. They kept talking the whole time it seemed.

Despite not having played the demo I'll be buying it as the show is just absolutely enjoyable and I just want more of it.

I do hope that Belz and other characters will show up in DB Sparking! ZERO. Belz Vs. Goku? Yes, please!

Seems Europe is getting the Collector's Edition with a Steelbook case:

The figure/statue looks kinda cheap.

Disney had The Jungle Book.

Kubrick had Eyes Wide Shut

This will be Toriyama's equivalent.

Lol, what?!

Toriyama has Dragon Ball.

That's literally a far more significant cultural legacy than Kubrick left with Eyes Wide Shut.

Personally i didn't know Toriyama had a hand in this as i don't fully follow Manga itself, just anime mainly but then read the article saying he praised it before his passing. The funny thing is, back when i played Dragon Quest on PS2, i thought the designs reminded me of the Dragon Ball looks and now i know why.

I guess i have. Well, i'd be glad to have it spelled out for me tbh. I took the post at face value i guess.

That aside, that collectors edition is nice. Back when i felt prices were more normal, that might have cost around £100 in the UK. Now they probably want £150+ easily. It's all cheaper quality crap too in terms of materials compared to before where there was a bit more effort.

Personally if i saw this on sale, i'd probably snap it up. That looks cool.

I think the idea was that The Jungle Book and Eye Wide Shut are their creator's last works, which are also not considered to be anywhere close to their best; ie closing out their legacy on a weak note, and that will also be the case with Sand Land.

Ah, okay. I got ya. Technically speaking though, Sand Land was finished in the early 2000s, with this game adaptation being one of the latest adaptations of the manga IP. However, Dragonball Super was ongoing at the time of Toriyama passing, so DBS is his real magnum opus.

I guess my original point about Toriyama having Dragon Ball be his final legacy stands true in that respect then with the Super manga ongoing at the time of him passing.

You what? The Jungle Book is a classic of animation and Eyes Wide Shut, while maligned initially, is now considered to be one of Kubrick's finest and most provocative works

You too have missed the point...

Let's be honest, the last ever work you do as an artist may not be your best. Rarely is life ever so kind as to allow such a thing.

Many times, if your name and talent is recognised and people are willing to pay significantly big sums to have yourself attached, they choose to make the money. Bruce Willis did this to set up his family for life. Chadwick Boseman also taking up a lot of roles in the time he had left whilst admirably fighting his cancer.

Personally i think Jungle Book is a classic, and well loved but one of many movies perhaps by Disney that people could pick a favourite from. Eyes Wide Shut though, i think that's a much more difficult proposition with far better known Kubrick works probably that would get picked. Some argue that the movie was the straw the broke the camels back when it came to the Cruise/Kidman marriage.

Perhaps you should simply state the point then, instead of dancing around it.

I personally like The Jungle Book, to be clear, but it's nowhere near Disney's best. And Eyes Wide Shut one of Kubrick's finest works? I'm sorry, but it doesn't hold a candle to works like 2001, Dr Strangelove, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, or A Clockwork Orange. It's far less remembered and culturally relevant as well. Eyes Wide Shut isn't a bad film, but among his best? Nonsense.

I like the demo, but it's not amazing enough to buy the game at full price. 19.99 seems right for the price down the road. I had to mute all the voices, as they kept talking during the game demo non-stop.

The combat is decent.
I like the vehicles.
The landscape is okay in the demo. Could use more variety of terrain hopefully in the full game.

Nice art style.
Would be cool to be able to play as other characters.
