Pre-ordered this after school childhood fave and topped it off with Prague Nights and The Hourglass Sanatorium for the trifecta.

Thrilled this is finally getting an upgrade, and really glad that VS are the ones handling it. This is imo the best Western effort at emulating Japanese kaiju films and deserves way better than it's gotten over the years; it's top-of-the-line B-movie guys working on an A-picture scale. I love it to death.

The blu I have of Gorgo is pretty terrible, and this is right up my alley. I hope VS gets more giant monster flicks.

Is this the first classic kaiju in 4K in the USA ? The only other one I can think of is K.K vs Godzilla 1963 japan UHD that costs a fortune and no subtitles , Never got that one .

I gotta have the slipcover edition but gonna wait a bit , I have been buying the old classics from VS with the slipcovers but with 6,000 being made I got some time . Little high for me at $37 plus shipping . Maybe a sale for black friday I'm hoping . Who knows maybe I change my mind and buy it now to support more movies like this .

Didn't this have an alternate Korean version or is that another movie i'm thinking of ? Old Kaiju Gorgo/Godzilla/Gamera era .

UPdate , Yup I did have the wrong movie , Its was Yongary, Monster From the Deep that has 2 cuts .

It is! The landscape isn't that much more extensive in Japan at the moment, oriented more around TV franchises than feature-length movies.

Absolutely. I was a young kid in the 70s, when these movies were broadcast several times a year, on regular local television. So these movies are entertaining and nostalgic. The new HDX copy on VuDu looks pretty good, better than the Blu-ray from VCI.

Day of the Triffids (1962) !!! It's been far too long since it has been restored , Was suppose to be Ignite , I rather take VS any day . But anyone if its in 4K but millcreek.
