In fairness (don't click if you haven't seen the classics):

[Show spoiler]Godzilla gets beaten in the first four movies, and only when he does his face turn in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster does he actually not lose/die at the end of the film.

And I think it's more of atomic fire than laser.

Now up at BM too. They list it as a "Steelbookolo" . Never heard of that one before. If it's not just a typo, maybe it's a Fabelo Steelbook, like the Sleepy Hollow one coming out from Paramunt.

this better have some Dolby Vision,
only way i'm upgrading, as i already have the slipcover version.

maybe they can remaster the Jamiroquai & Puff Daddy videos while they're at it too.

For the price they're asking it better come with something unique. I'm very happy with the initial 4k steelbook release so I'll pass most likely.

Yeah, me too. Steelbooks in general are costing more than I want to spend lately. They need to offer something special or it's a nope.

Would love if they did new transfers of kore of the teasers like they did for the initial 4k. Been dying f9r the new years special. But would be dope to have more of.the extras and behind the screws stuff instead of the abridged one that's been on the releases since the original DVD

So they just took a still and slapped it on the steel?

Well at least it's different than the other two posters they keep using for the film.

Well, could've been worse. I mean as lazy as the eye steelbook/cover is, it's just far better than this here. The real question is now will this have any new extras for us who already own the previous release to give a damn. I'm expecting Dolby Vision given Sony's track record, but for those of us who have an Oppo player the addition of DV is small potatoes.

Just OK, but at least it’s better than the past eye or foot cover art from the movie posters to avoid spoilering the monster.

Nice. Not perfect, but as others have said: better than the foot or eye.

At least it's not like that terrible Jurassic Park shop with the T-Rex that isn't even from that movie!

Just need amazon’s to go live.

Looks like he’s peeking out from under the title. Almost comical rather than scary. Peekaboo!

So this looks like it'll be front steelbook without title. Well artwork is... 50/50... I wonder what kind of back will be... Should be extension of the front and buildings in back.

I would have liked fresh art (even if it was as bad as the new SSTroopers SB) but this is still different. Nothing can be as bad as the cover art for the Monster Edition DVD.

Having the original theatrical subtitles would make this become my 7th copy of the film (VHS, Widescreen DVD, Monster Edition, Blu-ray, Mi4K Blu-ray, 4K UHD). New extras would be great too. I may look into DV whenever I buy my next TV.

The steelbook is not the best, but also not that awful, could be worse.

Will be getting it, but not day 1
