And now to wait for the standard non-steelbook release (again).

Not a big fan of Steelbooks but Movies Unlimited got me again. They had the best price with coupon code on Season 1 when it was released and now Season 2. Season 2 Steel is listed at the moment for $50 and with coupon it's $35 using the $30 off $100 deal good till the end of August. So I ordered the Steel, Rosemary's Baby 4K, and Red Dragon 4K all for $72.00 plus tax after discount. For those inclined you can find the code right here ....

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=353716 - August: MU23AUG ($30 off any order of $100 or more)

As far as Season 2 goes I enjoyed every episode except for Star Trek: The Musical. Didn't hate it, just thought it was a bit much. I know they're trying to put the fun back in Trek, but .......

It’s not as epic as the season 1 Steelbook but as long future editions align with the art from the standard and steel versions of season 1 it’s not totally off putting. As far as portraits go it’s pretty great and Pike is awesome as a captain so no regrets if this is what we get.

Is the version sporting the entire cast the standard 4K release? That should have been on the steelbook and just box Pike like the other characters as a magnetic gimmick.

Yes, it'll be the regular case style for the 4K release.

I think I'll just get that one, even though I bought the Steel for S1.

Yup. If she's not there, no option for my favorite character.

Something’s not right: they list it as a 4K Steelbook but that UPC (191329255650) is for a Blu-ray Steelbook. The true 4K Steelbook’s UPC (191329256831) is listed for $59.97, but orders aren’t yet being accepted yet.

EDIT: Official word back from BullMoose on UPC 191329256831:

Hello Travis,

Thank you for reaching out! We aren't able to open this item up for pre-orders right now, as it's experiencing some delays, and we aren't sure yet what we will be able to get for stock. If we determine that we are able to open this item up for online purchase, the link you provided will update. In the meantime, if you'd like, you can add the item to a list in your Bull Moose account to easily check whether the item has become available to order.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Best,
Libby

If I were to guess, those magnets are going to be double-sided.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they run into sometimes when they weirdly have something unavailable to order. They didn't take orders for 4 of the 6 recent Mission: Impossible steels. The "delays" reason doesn't make much sense, either. There has to be something screwed up with their distributor, so now I have to resort to Amazon. Ugh.

I'd rather have the standard release... just need someone to put it up for order.

Is the Pike image on the steelbook possibly just a magnet also? maybe the art of the standard is underneath that? seems unlikely, but I thought I'd throw it out there in the off chance it could be true.

Why would that be unless it is an exclusive? I'm sure the rest will list the standard UHD when the time comes.
At any rate, I am glad I have my preorder for the Steel.
So help me God, if the only way I can get the 4K Steel is to order it from the one place guaranteed to have it arrive dented and smashed to hell, I’m gonna lose my shit.
