So I understand you better, can you please define "all 3rd party sources"? Exactly who are they?

You can sell things on amazon as a merchant. sort of like ebay, but its through amazon and listing prices are lower etc. So when you're on amazon looking at something, next to their price you see "16 new and used from..."
Those 16 are other sellers (3rd parties) are selling the same product. Sometimes brand new for way lower prices. Not many people know about it, and sometimes amazon DOES have the lower price. But blu-rayboxsets.com finds all of the sellers UNDER amazon and display the best price on a new whatever you're looking at.

Ummm...look at blu-rayboxsets.com....HELLOOOOOOOOO...it uses Amazon checkout and only sells products from Amazon sellers. So, your point is...?

Ah.. I see... so the 3rd party seller can state whether the item is "New" or "Used" and blu-rayboxsets.com displays the first "New" item...

New questions

1. I assume the seller ships the item and not Amazon?
1.1. Where do the seller get the items from?
1.2. How do you know the item is new? Is it sealed?
1.3. How do you know it's legit?
2. Who handles the credit card charge? Amazon?

What does my thread have to do with Ebay?

Actually, it doesn't display the FIRST new item, but the CHEAPEST new item.
Answers:
1. Correct, the seller ships the item
1.1. Personally, I don't care where they get them. Perhaps they loaded up on a BOGO sale
1.2. It says it's new or used and yes they come factory sealed. These aren't bootlegs
1.3 Read these boards. Since my first post, MANY have had super success (myself included) and those who have experienced a problem have lauded the site's owner, John, for his superior customer service.
2. Yes....it's Amazon checkout.

That's what I meant by the first item new item since they are ordered by price.

What kind of responsibility does John have in this?

John is the site's owner and he's posted a few times here after noticing the traffic coming from this site. I'm sure he makes a commission from each transaction but given his level of service that seems reasonable to me.

That's what I'm wondering about... if Amazon handles the charges and a 3rd party seller do the shipping, what does John's service/customer service consist of?

Wicky,
I usually go straight to Amazon for my purchases. How would I link through here to make sure you guys get credit? Go through Josh's link on the news page?

Thanks

You only need to follow one link from this site to Amazon before making purchases, then you can add as many movies as you want and blu-ray.com will get credit for all of them.

Lets see if I can explain this in a better way. We're not saying that the web site isn't a nice resource for those looking for cheap Blu-ray movies, the guy running it seems like a good guy. However, we just don't think it qualifies being featured in the "Hot Deals" forum all the time as there really is no specific "Hot Deal", just random aftermarket items being featured.

This wouldn't be as much of a problem if it wasn't for the thread constantly being bumped to the top of the forum. We have previously had problems with webmasters of other sites abusing the Hot Deals area to advertise their own sites, which isn't allowed. Even though this isn't your site we feel that you are using the Hot Deals forum in a way we didn't intend for it to be used and it basically becomes like seeing spam/advertising for the site in the forum every time it pops back up to the top.

We might need to consider adding some policy about deal sites.

Exactly, simply follow one of our links to Amazon and anything you add to the shopping cart after that within 24 hours will be credited to us. Just keep in mind that after the 24 hours are up you need to redo it

Ice, if you want details, just read up on "Amazon Marketplace" on Amazon.com. I buy through it all the time and save a lot of money.

Basically BRBoxsets does the same thing we do: Follow their link, they get credit for it
