Regardless if these titles aren't very good, if they can produce and sell them for this price, why do they need to sell so many other titles for $27.95, and up, on amazon?
I don't think the production costs were very high on these movies. Most studio productions probably involve a bit more man hours. I bet we're gonna see a ton of low budget stuff shot on digital on blu-ray at low prices like we do on DVD.

Back in the VHS days I worked in Wal-Mart and there was this company called Good Times Entertainment. There was an American flag on the logo and sometimes it was just called GTE.

The realesed the worst crap on VHS often made to look like Disney Movies just before a big release. So when the Little Mermaid was in the theater a cheep version of Little Mermaid was in the stores.

These were really poorly done movies. I remember the estate of John Wayne sueing them for releasing really bad cuts of John Wayne films which were also available from other companies at the same time.

When DVD started to hit, critical mass, the first bargan bin movies were from this same company. Now at Wal-Mart (or any store for that matter) there are a lot of $5 movies that are just old. However 5 or 6 years ago the only $5 movies were things like a giant bug movie with William Shatner from before Trek, or Fists of Furry VIII.

A friend of mine bought something that looked like a mix of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. It had a dumb name like "wizard of the rings" and it looked like it was filmed with a camcorder in my back yard. I think it was from Australia or New Zealand. We tried to watch it but it wasn't watchable.

I think we should all avoid these movies like the plauge but, it's a good sign that Blu-Ray is hitting critical mass.

I guess I should have looked a little closer. I thought it said The Sentinel when in fact it was The Last Sentinel. Never heard of it.

I recommend, i had never heard of it and saw it one day at my local video store so decided to rent it. Loved it, reminded me of when my friends tried playing softball one year and we just end up getting wasted. Plus, cant go wrong for $9.
