I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to suggest that "delayed until summer" is their way of avoiding the costs associated with packaging and releasing a title on a format that is on life support. I wouldn't want to spend money, time, and energy on a nearly dead format either.

I too think this delay is a sign of pulling the plug on DUD. We've already heard rumors about something happening around April.

I think they have delayed it so the Blu-ray version and HD DVD version can get released simultaneously.

"Sometime in Summer" isn't good when most retailers wont be carrying that format by then. And we might know why by friday.
Friday...mmm.

I assure you.
Ive heard it was because Technicolor has stopped working on it.

This is just more confirmation that Paramount is slowly stopping their plans of releasing more stuff on DUD. They know that the game will be over by March when Best Buy stops ordering new stock of HD-DUD movies.

To add more suspense. Paramount also delayed a few blu titles right before they switched.

Who knows what this is foreshadowing, it maybe nothing. Until we have hard evidence its all conjecture at this point.
Unfortunately we probably won't know anything concrete until the day of Paramounts switch.

However, the fact that this news has resurfaced at this time might mean that there's further significance to it, beyond just a delay because it's a delay or that the first season didn't sell well last fall.

This news is over 2 months old. Whereever you read it is way behind. Since it was delayed prior to Warner's move (although it never actually was ever confirmed for March anyway), I would not read into this at all.

Hey,

I guess HighDefDigest asked for confirmation on this today so they could move the set to the pending part of the new releases section instead of it having a release date and stuff.

That's why it seemed like new news.

I was a bit surprised to learn that Mike Myers was wearing a Captian Kirk mask this whole time.

(But then I never watch Special Features but that Halloween Blu Ray was just too awesome.)

By the way. Sporty, you were right. Thanks.
Now, of course we're beginning to hear of the final chips (Toshiba et al) to fall as well.

I think they delayed it so they can max up the video bitrate and take advantage of 50gig discs and lossless audio

This season set will NEVER see the light of day on HD DUD (IMHO)
