Received all today (in two separate packages), all w/slips except Kong: Skull Island (which was also missing the digital copy). At least I still had the standard Blu slip so I can use that instead.

Since they started posting those high rate of return banner warnings on the 4K/BD listing pages I assumed it was primarily from scratched disc returns since so many are from the usual suspects like SF.

There are even more titles from Universal/SDDS being discounted via coupons on amazon at the moment, like Train to Busan and Peninsula.

I'm surprised to see so many titles with warning banners claiming they're frequently returned items though. It's a completely unhelpful, in not misleading warning without amazon explaining why. Searching the most recent reviews is never enlightening as the warning proposes. You don't even know which edition is being returned, if returns are due to damage that's purely the fault of amazon's packaging and/or handling, if there's something wrong with the release itself, or if too many people just take advantage of amazon's generous return system. Afterall, I've read more than a few reviews where the reviewer claimed they returned the movie to amazon, or asked for a refund in the case of digital purchases, just because they didn't like the movie itself.

I assume the same, though I figured damaged cases due to inadequate packaging and/or warehouse automation to be the bigger culprit. I too get a startling amount of scratched discs from Shout UHD/BD combos, so much so, I wonder if they'd actually be legal to sell in places that actually enforce laws regarding acceptable defect yields. But I've seen such disclaimers from other UHD producers a lot too, including some in this sale. The Blackening is another I recently came across. With UHD it could very likely also be playback issues with players in need of an update, and customer error, thinking UHDs will play on a legacy BD player or BD on DVD. I had one of the later via an ebay sale recently. He claimed the disc was defective, before learning that his DVD player couldn't play BDs. Parenthood the complete series from Universal is another with the warning, for unknown reason. Hopefully I won't discover why when ours arrives next week.

Regardless, most of the items I see those warnings on make me think amazon is being too liberal in its application and needs to take more responsibility for the failings of their packaging and warehouse automation, as well as misleading listing pages, instead of blaming the product for their own failings.

You may have snagged the only one. I just checked because I need that one and it's no longer available.

I was a lucky one also, I've got Batman Retuns along with Nope and The Green Mile. When I saw that Returns was out if stock almost everywhere I considered for a moment buying the whole quadrilogy along with another 4k from Gruv ebay site, to get their 15% discount for about 67$...still better than whatever prices are on Ebay solo Returns 4k

I was also so close to pulling the trigger on that set from Gruv too…but glad I didn’t.

I brought Barbie, It Came From Outer Space, and Meg 2: The Trench 4K blu-rays from this sale. Received the 4K discs today. Tried to redeem the digital code to Meg2. Kept on getting a error. I scanned the QR code and it says it's been already redeemed. When I first open it the shrink wrap did not look normally comes shrink wrapped. This is a first for me.

Probably something you should start to expect to see more of, unless buying early, when the title is released. We didn't get into UHD until a couple years ago, so we've been playing catchup for most of our UHD purchases. I'd speculate that roughly 50% of our new UHDs have been rewrapped returns. How many had previously used codes I don't know, as I don't use them. I sold a few that had been used, but it was a longtime buyer who was understanding and waited on me to get a new code from the studio, since I could prove the item was purchased new. It shouldn't be too difficult to get one for something as recent as Meg 2. If the disc and case look good, I'd recommend going that route, instead of returning it to amazon.

Our copy of Blue Beetle looked like some jack-hole used it to try to get ink flowing from a pen. The slip had impressions all over the front. The disc and case look fine though and it wasn't a rewrap, so if the disc plays fine too, I'll let it go. But even at these prices, it's frustrating, feeling like you've got to compromise or risk discouraging yet another retailer in their support of collectible media, which ultimately sends the same message to the studio, rather than being correctly interpreted for the colossal break-down that it is, in what has become an extremely callous, short-sighted shipping industry.

I am starting to question some of these "Amazon" deals. The Beetlejuice case I received was cracked, and it looked like it was resealed with hints of the original wrap still in tact. The discs were in perfect condition, and the code had already expired.

IN addition, my order of King Kong Skull Island, Godzilla, Godzilla vs Kingkong, all were shrink wrapped too...

Sounds like the warehouse yours came from was scraping the bottom of the barrel in their inventory.

If this is the first time you've experienced this, you're doing pretty well. I see re-wraps ALL the time.

Same! I was sent a Blu of "Pearl" that was supposed to be new, but the digital code had already been redeemed. I was pissed.

I got $60 worth in value for $35.

Point being, the 3 for $33 is a heck of a deal no matter what.
Nice picks! It's always a win when you can stack up those discounts with gift credits – getting Big Lebowski for free is just the cherry on top!
