BD and the PS3 will absolutely own and destroy 2008...so much so that all the detractors will either be in tears or in a newfound state of joy for joining in.

Until Wal-mart can bring in more Blu-ray player, PS3 might just fit the bill.

Ever since January 4, it has been nothing but bad news for HD DVD. :-)

Like i said before companies that are dishonest and greedy like Toshiba and Paramount will always loose in the end. Now they have to come to blu with their tails between their legs.

It was primarily due to the Microsoft/HD-DVD PG non-rational propaganda campaign.

Blu-ray has definitely changed my home theater experience. I grew tired of riding the fence, so I finally broke down and got a PS3 at the beginning of the year. It hasn't even been two months and my BD collection has grown to nearly 50 titles and I plan to pick up a Sharp Aquos BD player as well. I love Blu.

Oh, and I ended up with an el-cheapo Toshiba HD-A2 and one lone HD-DVD title as well. I'm hoping to pick up some really good cheap HD-DVD titles as I'm sure there will be a fire sale on them any day now.

Actually, my screen name derives from this...

http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...ue+Blue+Falcon

Blue Falcon is used in the modern Army to designate a "Buddy F**ker", that is someone who is not a team player and displays no unit loyalty.

Though I'm not really a Blue Falcon (I hope not at least ), it was the first thing that popped in my mind when I had to choose a username for this forum.

the ps3 is selling pretty good for a system without any triple A franchises. it has excellent new IPs like resistance, heavenly sword, and uncharted. but just wait untill the big boys show up like FFXIII, gran turismo, MGS4. ALL of these have proven to be system sellers for sony and its all exclusive.

Hi,
Well, let me start with my story which is interesting enough. I live in KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ) and I'm a member of many arabian forums that concentrates on videogames and guess what ??!...they hate me. WHY?? because I talk and speak by logic. Two years ago, I said blu-ray would win no matter what you think because it has the support from the movie industry and because of Playstation 3 as a brand that millions would buy even with the high price. I said the Playstation 3 is the leader of the market and no body believed me. I said clearly that Playstation 3 would have a bad position in the beginning which is something I didn't care because I as well as sony focus on the long term. When I pay, I invest and PS3 as a long term console and media center is where my money goes. It has nothing to do with fanboism to Sony. It's logic. People lived with the brand "Playstation" for more than 10 years as the first choice and they still look at it the same way as long as sony Playstation 3 is here and there with promising games, features and services. The problem of Playstation 3 was the blu-ray being unproven yet. Now, everything has changed and everyone starts talking like "WOW, Blu-ray succeeded very quickly" "WOW, Playstation 3 is the monster" "WOW, The press talks positively about PS3 and Blu-ray" and they start saying things I have been saying since 2006.
In 2007, PS3 outsold Xbox360.In 2007, PS3 sold 8.83 million consoles without the hot games, Bluray being the winner yet and without home service. Why?? Tell me why?? It's Playstation brand...Something you lived with and never let you down.
For the record, in 2006.. I said the wii is a toy. Mr. wada said it in 2007. It seems he agrees with me.
