No movie is ever necessary or unnecessary. You can make ANYTHING work, you just have to make it work.

I'm not going to pass judgment until i see more. I certainly would prefer a good sequel over a live action remake.

The teaser doesn't look cheap and looks to be about the same quality as the first movie. So there's that. I found the first enjoyable so let's see shall we?

Toy Story 5 is absolutely unnecessary. I liked 4, but even that wasn't needed and was the weakest entry in the series.

The films weren’t good enough, suffering from corporate meddling and way over budget, and Disney has had a dodgy issue with marketing for a while now. If that’s not their fault then I don’t know what is. You can’t get angry at audiences for not watching stuff they don’t want, it lays all at execs in charge, they will be the ones having to answer questions.

Well that last bit has been the trickiest part.

Supposedly the episodes were coming back looking so good that Disney was contemplating releasing the series as a feature film. The debate has been going on for the past few months with a decision finally reached: “Moana” the series is now “Moana” the sequel and it’s coming to theaters everywhere on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Disney+ shows are very hit and miss and I'm not sure how an entire series could be converted to a movie that presumably would be 90-120 minutes unless there's a lot of filler material they can simply cut out.

This is real desperation on Disney's part. You can tell this was a last-minute ploy after the disaster that was Wish (and just about every other film they released last year). Same with the way they announced Toy Story 5 right after Pixar's films started flopping.

Expecting something on the same level of quality as Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, Belle's Magical World, and Atlantis: Milo's Return. You can't just turn a series of episodes into a full-length feature especially in less than a year. Frozen II had six years of gestation, all of them as a full-length feature, and that was a mess.

The animation will at least be a lot better compared to those examples you gave.

Bob Iger turned Disney Animation into Disney Toons.

What are people talking about?? The original was made by animation legends, John Musker and Ron Clements. This is made by a nobody. What happened to "we let the directors decide if they come up with a good story???"

Moana is entertaining with some great singing by the female lead actress. I really liked the end confrontation too. Great water effects too. The Rock's ability to change forms into animals was cool too. Reminds me of that show Manimal.

I'd see a sequel in 3D theaters. The 3D was also good, with medium 3D layering overall.

Many modern Disney and Pixar shorts were also made by nobodies at the companies. Even the Oscar-winning "Bao." Go watch the Pixar Sparkshorts and WDAS Short Circuit, then you'll see what a nobody can be capable of.
