Arrow hide the uncut version of films with horsefalls all the time with region coding. Nothing has come of it.

But for the indecent images in the 2nd SISTER STREET FIGHTER, they didn't.

Orbit and Diabolik got in the UK steel but it's CUT.

Orbit told me most likely not getting the German steel which is UNCUT.

But Diabolik told me they're getting the German.

Maybe this won’t be too big an issue after all. I assume SC are doing one disc with three menus for each language and when you select France or Germany, you’d get it seamlessly branched uncut and if you select UK, it’ll be censored.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

You need the German edition to get the film UNCUT.

For Angel Heart, Studio Canal authored a whole ‘nother disc solely for the UK market. I suspect the same will be true here. Not sure the BBFC would be too pleased with the workaround you mentioned

Do they have to present the final disc encode to the BBFC or wouldn’t the censored master itself be sufficient? In that case, I don’t see what’s wrong with the triple menu idea I suggested. I remember a few instances where Arrow authored BDs with cuts for the UK and put the uncut version on the same disc via seamless branching for the US. Obviously the latter is only possible when they have the rights, so maybe there is a slim chance of hope with SC after all.

The Arrow method was based on region code, which is (by common assumption) not user-selectable, but a menu option is. I suspect these methods could be seen as quite different.

No idea what this is but it sounded interesting enough to blind buy. This is one of those instances where a combo pack would've come in handy...ordered the Blu-ray not realizing there's also a UHD. I'll have to double dip if this blows my mind.

I really hope the change of country will work. I ordered this from Orbit not realizing it was censored.

Very likely that they have mastered separate discs for the UK and Germany/France.
The language selection screen of the German UHD:

Dang that’s what I was afraid of. I think I am going to return mine when I get it and buy the German one.

Would the extras on the German disc have English audio or subs?

The main movie has English subtitles but the extras do not - they have only German or French subtitles.

That said, there are only two extras on the UHD and they're both English language extras: an audio commentary and an interview with Candice Bergen. No real need for English subtitles for either unless one is HoH.

Did you already get a chance to look at the master & encoding?

Do the German and French SteelBooks have region specific titling on the front and spine?
