Atomic shipped mine. It was the final title in a large order I placed over a month ago that was holding up the order so I'm glad it shipped. I had reached out to them asking for an update and the owner got back to me right away saying the UK distributor had just received their stock. I wasn't expecting a shipping notification anytime soon because of that. Not sure what happened there but I'm just glad the order shipped.

It definitely feels like he had a small idea and no budget and did what he could with the little given. I actually think segments of the book he partially wrote are far better than Diary/Twilight. Even that book has a lot wrong with it though. |

Romero is one of my favorite filmmakers of all time. I love his independent, low budget "Pittsburgh-family-crew" filmmaking era the most. It feels so unique, raw and truly visionary. I still like his later films a lot too. But Bruiser is a film I just don't care for. Tried it 5x over two decades. But always the same result. Still have the DVD in my Romero collection. But yeah, it's just for completionists sake.

I love the vast majority of Romero films, and yeah watching Bruiser again since the DVD first came out, still not enamoured.
Love Land of the Dead, gets better on repeat viewings. Diary of the Dead is a weird one where I get what he was trying to do but it fails overall. I actually like Survival of the Dead though ![]() |

Yeah, just watched this and great to see him in there (lovely friendly guy) but was a wee bit disappointed to note the Scream video isn't included as an extra given Romero filmed it for them during production (I even clicked around the disc to see if might be a hidden Easter Egg) though I suspect perhaps Jerry might have put an exorbitant price tag on it. Great set regardless!

I received my copy of the Indicator 4k, and although it says "presented with Dolby Vision" on the packaging, when I turned on Dolby Vision on my Sony player and started the movie, everything was washed out and saturated in red. I turned off Dolby Vision and the movie plays fine. I'm thinking maybe this disc does not have Dolby Vision. Has anyone else gotten a copy, and if so, did you have the same problem?

What is happening with the 4K UHD availability of this? Amazon UK has nothing, I guess powerhouse want this to be ordered from their website?

First time ever seeing Brusier.
It's OK. Flemying is good, even if he's critical of his own performance. There's something missing though isn't there? Is it the money people diluting the vision? The daydream sequences are perfect Romero, but the ending which should at least equal those seems very sedate. Still, I find enough of interest in it to have it in my Romero collection. Amazing to think I own all his full-length movies now on either BD or 4K, not a DVD in sight. Now if someone could just mop up and release his short bigfoot film Jacaranda Joe somehow... I'm sure there's scope for a Romero bits and pieces release if someone can find a decent copy of the above as the centrepiece and get the rights. Quote:

You need to fully restart playback (easiest way to be sure is probably to turn the player off and on again) after enabling DoVi in the player menu. |

I'm very happy I own this. Movie was very enjoyable and it looked freaking amazing. Kind of expected for a film of relatively young vintage but, still. Those colors.
I'm pretty sure I owned the DVD many years ago but, aside from Flemyng and that mask, I remembered absolutely nothing from this revisit. Either I started watching, got bored and never went back to it or I'm simply misremembering and never did actually own the DVD. In any case, I really enjoyed watching this late entry Romero thriller. Not great tbh but good enough to hold my interest (this time lol) and keep me watching. I'll have to watch it again to get the ending but it's something I'm looking forward to. The 4K is outstanding. The extras were great as well. Normally, I don't have the patience to sit through lengthy audio interviews, especially ones with just a black screen but I sat through the entire chat featuring Romero (43 minutes) listening intently. It's basically a career overview and I thought it was fascinating. Learned a few things about Romero and felt like I got the know the man a little better (RIP). The Flemyng interview was brief but I also watched intently. And finally, thank you Indicator for existing. Your 4Ks and BDs are excellent and very thoughtfully created. Love the slim 4K boxes. Looking forward to Iron Rose and more Aussie films. Hopefully Thirst (1979) is on the horizon. |
