Going to 192Hz or 240Hz would be costly but since there are many 2D flat panels on the market that claim 144Hz, that might be able to be done with a modification of the existing 120Hz Hisense hardware. But DLP projectors have better motion and can do perfect 3D at 144fps (72fps each eye) for single projector 3D and 48fps (24fps each eye) for dual DLP projector frame rate. Therefore, LCD might need to go to 192Hz or 240Hz to get rid of ghosting and flicker and 144Hz might not be good enough. That is something for the engineers to determine when making the displays. Maybe Hisense would be better off at doing low cost 2D LCD screens and the 3D flat panels would be exclusive OLED or 8K flat panels with a 4K passive glasses mode.

Hisense's new 3D capable PX3-PRO has a 144Hz triple laser light source.

Robert is this the first DLP projector that Hisense has made with 144fps triple flash technology? A link or spec sheet would be ideal. For many years active glasses DLP projectors with 144fps triple flash technology started at $30,000, then some models were made under $20,000 and under $10,000 in recent years. As long as the projector has a good lumis output both active and passive glasses can have the exact same picture quality at 144fps. But passive glasses for DLP projectors needs brighter output and most the time a silver screen. But last time I checked the cheapest passive glasses 2K DLP projectors setup was a minimum $25,000, but if Hisense is able to do both passive glasses and 144Hz for $3,500 that is a bargain and I think the screen comes with it for that price. Some people pay $3,500 just for the projector screen when looking at high-end projectors.

The way the $100,000+ Christie projectors work is they do 144fps for 3D mode for single projector and then 24fps for 2D mode. I am guessing that the Hisense projectors do 48fps for 2D since only the very best DLP projectors can offer flicker free 24fps performance at 24fps.

Hisense's new PX3-PRO will sell for $3,499. The PX3-PRO will not come with the projection screen, but Hisense will have some new recommended screens to best pair wiht the PX3-PRO.

We still need to reconfirm the exact 3D format and what screen fabric they will be offering and recommending.

That is cool the screen is sold separate. I am thinking of some last year models of DLP projectors at Best Buy that bundled the screen in the price. But I prefer the screen sold separately if I was to buy a projector, since more choices to choose from.

We agree it's important to select the exact best match fabric, screen fame type and screen size vs, having the manufacturer select the screen that may be very good, but not best for all use-cases with all of the personal end room environment that we all have to deal with.

Also wanted to say that Hisense has two categories of UST projection systems. This product line started in 2021 with the PX1-PRO, a very nice 4K HDR capable UST projector that did not come with a screen. The PX1-PRO was followed by the current PX2-PRO UST projector that is now on sale for $2,799.

And now we're just starting to discuss the next model year for Hisense's UST project series, the PX3-PRO UST Projector, that does not come with any screen.

Hisense is also well known and respected for their L9H series, which is a nice premium RGB tri laser, and also the L5H Single laser UST projector with RGB wheel that come with the choice of a well selected 100" daylight screen with moderate gain, or the higher priced L9H and L5H that is also available with the "CINEMA" series moderately gray wall mountable fixed frame projection screen with a small negative again lenticular fabric that is best for light controlled rooms.

Both screens are UST Ambient Light Rejecting. The L9H and L9H are the current series.

Hisense also now has the PL1 4K Smart Laser UST Projector that is now on sale for $,2,299 and does not comes with a screen.

Seems like Hisense just updated their press release to now say the PX3-PRO will be active 3D.

The launch date is slightly delayed to now be end of August. I am glad to see Hisense in committed to making the PX3-PRO 3D capable and all of the other specifications are very nicely enhanced.

Robert you should update your first post in this thread to say active glasses and not passive glasses. It appears passive glasses 3D on a DLP projector still costs around $25,000+. There were some under $1,000 DLP projectors many years ago with a bulb and not a laser light engine that were 144fps for 3D and 48fps for 2D, at the very minimum Hisense needs to offer those frame rates. While passive glasses would have been nice, again both passive and active glasses at 144fps offer the exact same picture quality.

Personally since lack of new Blu-ray 3D content I see myself buying a native 8K LCOS in 2026+ from either JVC or Sony since 90% of my TV watching will be 4K and 10% of my TV watching 3D most likely. LCOS currently offers native 4K light engines with no pixel shifting needed starting at $6,000. 2026+ should see native 8K LCOS light engines but the starting price could be $20,000-$30,000 for entry level models and over $80,000 for higher end models. Should see native 8K from optical disc and 8K streaming in 2026-2028 in theory. With all the coming soon 8K displays, 8K projectors, and 8K A/V receivers, no one makes all those products unless native 8K content is around the corner.

I glanced at the product page and it now states "active 3D". Was this all a ploy to drum up pre-release hype, a translation issue between the countries, or something else?

Hisense included our company in the very first allocation/shipment of the new PX3-PRO that is scheduled to launch early September.

Here's the new throw distance chart for the PX3-PRO and we updated our PX3-PRO webpage.

While I have had remotes for displays, A/V receivers, and Blu-ray players that have had batteries that last 10 to 16+ years before being replaced (lithium batteries or industrial alkaline batteries). Of course some batteries only last 5 to 10 years, therefore this is a good ideal for Chinese engineers to make a remote control that never needs batteries replaced. Like the dual power solar calculators with solar cells, when the room light is on or the sun is shining through the window the remote will keep the batteries charged. Maybe the rechargeable batteries and remote might last 20+ years, longer than the projector might last. Backlight on a remote is a must have when one is in a totally dark room. The OPPO UDP-203 remote has a backlight which I like.

Really ambitious new device by Hisense that might be the first projector to give viewers both 4K Dolby Vision as well as 3D capabilities. I am really curious about this new projector. I wonder what users will report about Dolby Vision. Some TVs and presumably also projectors are better at it than others, with some looking rather off in DV.

Default Hisense Releases PX3-PRO Laser Cinema

One negative of the PX3-Pro projector is just like all low-cost consumer DLP projectors in 2024 instead of using a native 4K light engine, instead a 2K light engine with pixel shifting is used to simulate a 4K output. But for the super low price of $3,499.99 having both HDR10+, Dolby Vision HDR, and Imax Enhanced is a excellent deal. Even support for the legacy Blu-ray 3D format with 3,000 ANSI lumens with a screen size ranging between 80 to 150 inch are important factors. Chinese engineers know how to make electronics at low price levels and in general most of the time quality electronics even at these lower prices.

Select quotes from article

“The PX3-PRO achieves 110% of the BT.2020 color space and offers 3,000 ANSI lumens of brightness for clear visuals with high color accuracy, even in 3D. Other visual features include support for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced.”

“The PX3-PRO is available now for $3,499.99 at Hisense Shop, Best Buy, Amazon, and Projectorscreen.com.”

Totally agree ^ and all of our staff and everyone who visits us are all loving the excellent image quality and all of the features and performance of Hisense's New PX3-Pro.

We've had the PX3-Pro on display since last Thursday, October 11th, and we leave it on every day in our main showroom's theater demo room. So we've watched a lot of various content and all images from all content sources renders beautifully on our 135" ALR screen!

Tomorrow well be filming our presentation and our 1st impressions review on Brian's Tech Therapy YouTube Channel.
