88 Films, can you shed any light on if this latest batch of Tigon movies has had such work done?

Yes, the grading by Pinewood Studios was sadly lacking I'm sorry to say, as I've always held that facility in high regard... production wise anyway.

88 often tweaks the scans it receives so I am cautiously optimistic the grade will be improved.

Quite a big upgrade on this one. The grading really annoyed me on the Odeon disc, and it seems the Anolis just used the same master. On top of that, the 88 version seems far sharper.

From 88? No. When their listing alters the photo to show no slip and they remove mention of it from the specs it means they've run out.

When they repress the title they remove it from the description however it is still possible that you could get a slip whilst they send out the rest of the stock on the initial batch. Basically if you order shortly after it is removed it is possible you may get one of the first pressing with slipcover etc. Of course this is not guaranteed and once that initial pressing is sold out you definitely won't get one. There is a window when you can get a slipcover despite it not being listed in the description.

Thank you for this suggestion, which I took and I was able to get from them this and Curse Of The Crimson Altar with the slipcovers. For two other releases I resorted to ebay for not that much more money so I could complete my Tigon Collection.

Is this a significant upgrade over the Odeon release?

I see the old release has Reeves’ short film whereas this does’t so that’s given me pause over which version to buy

In terms of colour grading it’s a significant upgrade. That sickly yellow cast that plagued Odeon/Screenbound releases of that period has gone.
