LFG!! My Dad took me to see this in the theater when I was a kid. It absolutely changed my perspective on listening to classical music. Absolutely day one, and one of the few movies I will gladly pay msrp on.

Is it possible WB will release the theatrical version in 4k this year, and Criterion will follow up with their own release with both cuts? Digital Bits had some rumors a few years back Criterion was picking this up.

I remember George Feltenstein saying that Philip Kaufman wanted Criterion, and Criterion wanted, to do The Unbearable Lightness of Being around the time that WB finally renewed their agreement with the Saul Zaents Company. Always seemed to me that that would more likely come from Criterion than Amadeus.

My suspicion is that tit will be a 4K disc with the theatrical cut only, plus the existing Director's cut Blu-Ray.

The big question is would Warner finish the year strong with Ben-Hur 65th anniversary and next year we get Doctor Zhivago 60th anniversary?

wouldn't it technically be a requirement by the DGA to include it or something?

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case

I hope the rumors are true. If it ends up being ONLY the Director's Cut, I will refuse to buy it. We need the Theatrical edition, PLEASE!!!!!

Knowing WB, it won’t come with a BD at all.
