Yeah but can say that about so many titles. Paramount also still has The Rainmaker (1997).

Didn't they turn this into a short lived T.V. series shortly after the film came out in 1986?

Yep, I remember watching it as a kid, at the time I wasn’t even aware that it was based on a movie and only found out about it later on…
Many of the Japanese actors even reprised their characters, but Scott Baukula (later of Quatnum Leap and Star Tek Enterprise fame) took over the Michael Keaton role…

I've loved this film every since I accidentally saw it at the Drive In on a double feature with "Friday the 13th Part 6". I'll gladly buy it again. I'll refer to this as the "One-Eared Elephant" edition.

Shame, just like The Missing we're stuck with two region locked Ron Howard movies. Will still get it, I have a region free player after all, just a shame, prefer it on my Series X.

I like 80s Keaton movies. I remember turning Gung Ho off as a kid thinking it was boring but a few years back I bought it on DVD and really dug it. It has an easy spirit, love the opening song by the Pretenders. I adore Mr. Mom, watched it a lot growing up. I blind bought The Paper but haven't watched it yet, Ron Howard directed that starring MK also.

Be cool if they can get some bonus stuff on the Gung HO disc.

Yeah where did the person that put it here get that info from? Kino never said “Late 2024”.

Even when Kino does put an exact date on a release, it's often (at least over the last few months) pushed by weeks to sometimes months later as their schedules shift. It will eventually get here.

With very few exceptions one being Lost in Translation, and another being Mr. Bug Goes to Town, and one other being Shamus.

Michael Keaton (Night Shift, Mr. Mom, Beetlejuice) shines as whip-smart Pennsylvania wheeler-dealer Hunt Stevenson in this rousing comedy by director Ron Howard (Splash, Cocoon, Apollo 13)! When Hunt persuades a Japanese automotive firm to reopen his home town’s defunct auto factory, he’s a hero. But when the Japanese hire him to enforce their policies among his American co-workers, he goes from hero to zero in seconds flat. It’s manpower vs. horsepower on the assembly line. Salami vs. sushi in the cafeteria. And a head-on cultural collision that’s enough to upset the world’s balance of laughter. See how really crazy things can get when Michael Keaton’s in charge in Gung Ho—co-starring Gedde Watanabe, George Wendt, John Turturro, Mimi Rogers and Clint Howard!
