It was supposed to receive a 4K edition back in the day, but Sony decided against it. And it was also released in 3D in cinemas, so there is a 3D master out there.
The current disc also has a director's cut that is much better (to me at least) that the theatrical cut. Would love it in 4K, and would not mind the 3D edition for occasional viewing.

If it’s a 3-D film, I have no need for a 2-D version. I’d always feel like I was missing something.

Whatever title it is can we get some 3D titles that have never been released before and not ones that have been re released a hundred times over.

Hoped for something new.

Already have this in my collection. One copy and another used copy i found a while ago very, very cheap as a backup.

So already "double dipped".

Very disappointed we’re not getting the atmos track on the 3D disc. Why bother having a single disc for the 3D if it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistle.
As someone who has the uk, the us, the us 4k and the jp, I see no reason to buy this movie for the 5th time.

I only have the US release, which I got for peanuts, so I might upgrade just to get the 3-D lenticular cover. I LOVE 3-D lenticular covers. And it’s got new extras too. It’s a worthy film, and deserves a deluxe edition.

I emailed ViaVision and they confirmed it’s the previously released 3D version, and has not been remastered.
