UB820/UB9000 Region B Lock Bypass / Top Menu Trick

Thanks! Can you confirm if the Criterions you listed are for Region A discs on Region B players, or do you mean you own the Region B releases and tried it on a Region A player?

I do not own the 2 Players mentioned in this Thread, but a Region-B DMP-BDT180EG Player I mainly use for 3D Playback

"The Warriors" (ARROW) was the sole one that worked wonders, while "ARMY OF DARKNESS" (Shout), "APOLLO 11" (Universal), and most LIONSGATE titles didn't - the LIONSGATE titles being "GHOST IN THE SHELL", "THE GREEN KNIGHT", and "SAW"

Sorry, should of clarified. I've got a Region A player and I imported two UK Criterion discs (cause they were cheaper than they ever get new here)



If it would be helpful to link the discs in my list to their respective Blu-ray.com pages like above, let me know and I will. I originally kept it as a list so it'd be easier to add to the existing list

My Player is Region B, the disc is the USA version.

and i suggest to split the thread in 2:
Region B lock bypass for Region A players
Region A lock bypass for Region B players

If anyone Region B wants to start the Region A lock thread then go ahead. I'll add the link to here and you can add my link to yours. I'm Region A so I think it'd be better if someone did that with first hand experience.

Traffic Criterion Region A WORKS with my UB820 Region B

I'm region A USA. Just picked up a Panny 820 and have several discs to check, but I can confirm that Second Sight's included blu-ray for Possessor works with the top menu trick.

Studio Canal's Red Sonja does not.

Well I checked several more "Region B" releases on my Panasonic 820 region A player. It's taking longer than I anticipated as I end up watching favorite scenes once I get them booted up.

(Apologies if already listed - current OP list isn't alphabetical so I may have missed an entry.)

The top menu trick worked on all of the following:

(BWV took many tries but it did eventually boot up)
