Glad the link is just down due to putting it on too early I thought it somehow already sold out. I’m in the minority but I love the artwork

I own the BB 4k steelbook and the 3D edition. Even for an iconic movie like this that's plenty good enough for me.

How likely are we to get a similar anniversary release/edition for the US?

Pretty much no chance. The most that might get released here would be steelbook with that slipcase art or I'm meltiiiiiing art. Or nothing at all.

Wicked is coming soon - trying to tie in with that by having the wicked witch front and centre, since she's the heroine of that movie...

Yeah maybe don't have the "heroine" dying on the front cover of your media tie-in lol. They could have used any other depiction.

I wish more people would look into her these days. She was one of the nicest and kind hearted ladies to walk the planet. She became Judy's confidant during filming and was a major advocate for education with her being a kindergarten teacher before becoming a character actress and seeked a position on the Beverly Hills School Board after her acting career. She would never turn down a fan asking for an autograph and would invite you to come visit her in her New York City apartment to make and eat lunch with you.

Wow they are really scrapping the bottom of the barrel on this one. Let me guess the 90th will be just her shoes

Thanks for the posting of that YT Short my friend!
As new generations of film enthusiasts enter the market, I feel it is always worthwhile to provide them info they may not be aware of regarding such iconic characters (and Actors) of the past.

I think the artwork is fine, no complaints. There are far worse home video designs out there, people. Much, much worse. In fact I can instantly think of at least 4 from Warner in the last year.

However I don’t see myself shelling out for this edition, already have the existing standard package 4K. 5-year-old me, on the other hand, would’ve mooned over all that ephemera.

It's not the steelbook art or the slipbox (hope it's hard sided, not flimsy).

I'm geeking out over all the poster and lobby card repro's. They're fantastic. Plus a replica theater ticket. :woot:

Imagine if Warner Brothers used that in an ad campaign to encourage people to buy this.

"Come on people. We have released far worse home video designs. Much, much worse. In fact at least 4 in the past year alone!"

Remember when we had TV commercials for upcoming physical media releases? Those days are long gone.

I already own this on Blu-ray 3 times - the 70th Anniversary, the 75th Anniversary in 3D, the 80th Anniversary in 4K. And I will definitely be picking this one up as well. The packaging looks so good.

Same. The packaging is just too good to pass up. Hopefully Orbit will enable the link soon so we can pre-order.

The Wizard of Oz/3D conversion is one of the best I've seen -- beautiful image quality, amazing depth.

Pre-orders up:

Amazon

Zavvi

HMV

Rarewaves

Looks like there is a Steelbook release as well, without all the collectors items:

Zavvi

I like the title treatment but dislike the art.
