[Show spoiler] This is one of those movies that's great to see with a crowd watching it for the first time because of all the crazy stuff in the movie. |

I'm not holding my breath that the local cinema will do a screening of The Final Chapter (unsure yet whether they will show the original Elm Street for it's 40th anniversary).
The original aside (have seen that three or four times at the cinema (one-off screenings), have seen Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason and the late-noughties film at the cinema. I would find it difficult to pick a favourite film/some favourite films in the Friday the 13th film series, as I very much like any of the first seven (after that though, they're a bit hit and miss for me). The Final Chapter has one of my favourite bumping-off scenes [Show spoiler]

I can happily watch the whole boxset over a week or so. I thought the remake was pants though. |

Scream 6 had some unexpected Friday the 13th fanservice, when two characters started talking about which movie was better: Part II or The Final Chapter.
I remember thinking to myself: "The Final Chapter, hands down". |

One of the reasons I liked the first four films in the series was the timeline [Show spoiler] The one I can't make my mind up about is Jason Takes Manhattan (some of the bumping off scenes are good and I liked seeing veteran actor Peter Mark Richman among the cast). |

I doubt many of us have heard "Love Is A Lie" in the wild. But there should be some sort of rule that says you have to do this dance whenever you hear it.
I guess we'll have to settle for dancing like this to "Back in Black." I would love to see an AC/DC concert where everybody does the Crispin Dance when the song gets played. |

I saw the Paramount Scares/Fangoria screening tonight.
Before the movie there was a 5 minute introduction by actor David Dastmalchian which featured very brief interview clips with Joseph Zito (director), Barney Cohen (screenwriter), and Tom Savini (special effects). The interview clips were taken from the "Jason's Unlucky Day: 25 Years After Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter" featurette on the DVD and blu-ray: My only complaint about the introduction is that they showed too many of the killings and Crispin Glover's dancing. They should have let those scenes be a surprise for those who were about to watch it for the first time. This screening used a DCP and it looked fantastic. It might have been a 4K DCP. There's one final screening on Sunday. Check the following website to see if it's playing near you: https://www.paramountscares.com/ Last edited by whiteberry; 09-14-2024 at 05:34 PM. |
