Did you mean October 8th for a US release? If so, then yes, it's likely an error or an assumption that it's releasing there, as there's nothing to suggest the US are getting it.

It says October 7. But yes I'm sure it's a mistake. Both date and release. Other than the Paramount Scares BS.

After watching the "unrated" fancut of the movie, I can't go back to the R-rated cut, no matter how great the 4K will look.
The MPAA butchery, feels even worse now. Last edited by Steel76; 09-12-2024 at 10:10 PM. |

Damn - just saw the pic in the post above yours. The Shout BD set had 4K remastered versions of the original Paramount films, so I guess I might not pick this one up either. The New Chapter onward I might, since those were older masters.

Not all, just 4k scans of Parts 1-4, along with a 2k scan for JGTH. It’s assumed that the pandemic really tampered with Shout’s set

I thought Paramount only made the first four and that the rest were made by another studio but merely distributed by them? Maybe I am misremembering and The Final Chapter was meant as the final one but then they backsied.

They definitely didn't make the first one, they only handled domestic distribution (which is also why WB has international rights). Paramount made 2-8 and then it was sold to New Line.

Sorry, I know this is the F13 Pt2 thread but I'm kinda lazy to search for the Friday 1 thread, and since we're talking about the Shout set, does anyone know why the theatrical cut of the first film wasn't a direct scan of the OCN like the unrated cut? I heard that they clumsily tried to recreate the TC using the unrated master, can anyone confirm this?
