I like the look the way they are now; especially the ones with the raised logo. I see no reason to change the cases.

Like others have said, of course they'll keep the logo. They need to start (or continue, as the case may be) putting stickers on the shrinkwrap that says 1080p as blu-ray's competitor is now s-DVD and the masses need to be made aware of the vast difference in PQ between standard and hi-def.

The WAR is years from being over.
Blu-ray will now be in a war with DVD.

So the Blu-ray logo and blu color cases are not going anywhere anytime soon.
It's the brand identity so there will be no change there.

I don't understand why it's a big deal? I think it looks fine. On the shelf, you only see the spine of the case anyway... which brings me to another point.
[/begin rant]
I don't want them changing the clamshell (case). Color, fine. But what WB was doing with their older sDVDs just ticked me off. It was a piece of cardboard with a plastic top, bottom, and clip. Most of the clips didn't work at keeping the thing closed.

[/end rant]

Yes, I forwent many early WB DVDs because of this, and I want the BD cases to stay the same, if they do a color change it would not be the end of the world, but do not change the size and shap of the current case. As for the Logo, I do not care either way, I have some without it alreay.

I don't remember a format war between DVD and another format. What was that other format?

Well, when they're filed on a shelf as you would file a book, you only see the spine of the case, which shows the title logo as it appears on the front but omits most of the imagery. It's a stylized approximation of the cover.

I could do without the blue band and logo at the top of the case. But I guess I don't mind it as long as it is part of the case and not mixed in with the cover artwork itself. All the other swooshy cover art spam should leave.

Blu-ray Disc's blue band & logo treatment is also not having enough of an effect to keep people from buying BDs by accident.

Every time I rent or buy a movie on Blu-ray the store clerks ask, "do you have a player?" They tell me they have to ask that question due to a new policy. Too many idiots are just pickup up the discs off the shelf, buying/renting them and then expecting them to play in their standard DVD player.

I still want to see the technical listing stuff on the back of the cover art (audio formats, aspect ratio, HD format, video encoding format, etc.).
