Was really hoping for a 4k release.
Maybe 88 can give a answer on that and why.

Is it more than alleged? I honestly don't know. Seemed the right word to use if he's been accused but hasn't ever been in prison or isn't in prison right now. Normally that would seem par for the course in Hollywood but this is like this guy's only movie so he doesn't strike me as a super powerful Hollywood guy either..

The claims were for incidents that happened in the late 70's when those people were kids in a theater troupe. Perhaps they were not in a position to complain then, because apparently he was a hero to those kids. Several kids have alleged molestation, so it's less likely to be false.

Goddard mostly has done work behind the scenes, especially with theme park rides.

I hate it when this happens. I'm torn between just not watching the movie anymore or choosing to still embrace it for the good work better people (or at least....people who haven't been outed as awful) are doing in it. I've written off anything by Victor Salva because that's just (way) too much. His perversions feel like they're getting a weird fetishistic treatment in the Jeepers Creepers movies and Powder is creepy for completely different reasons. And Clownhouse is just disgusting..

We each have to make our own decision based on our outlook and circumstances.

I myself feel I can appreciate a man's art while deploring his personal qualities. The two do not necessarily go together. I would still watch a Polanski or Kevin Spacey or John Lassetter film. Then again, if I personally knew any of the victims, I may have a different take on it. What I deplore is people making judgements for others, competing for top prize in a holier-than-thou race.

I'm just trying to decide for myself. I mean, I don't begrudge anyone still watching Salva's movies just because they make me feel too ick. But if others still can enjoy then more power to them..

Unless someone is convicted of a serious crime, couldn't give two craps. This cancel culture/pitchforked mob thing is sinister to say the least, doesn't take a lot to start a false rumour on the internet.

I've actually been a victim online of defamation videos made on me. Just takes one idiot to stir a mob. Anyway I personally don't care about Goddard's possible crimes away from the camera and artistic crimes behind the camera, it's frickin Masters of the Universe and I've waited ages for the blu-ray!

There's no general rule, but I tend to be pretty lenient on these things. People are imperfect, and that's fine, it's one of the crucial characteristics of the human condition. Unless someone is actively and demonstrably using their position and fortune to repeatedly harm others or promote views that I find harmful, I don't mind supporting their work, especially when it comes to art. I certainly won't get mad at other for doing so.

Childhood favourite of mine, just some fun cheesy sci-fi 80s fantasy. Frank Langella was excellent as Skeletor.
I have been tempted over the years to pick this up, seen imports pop up in CEX occasionly over the years but held off for a UK release and I’m glad I did.

Hopefully the special features get revealed soon. The old Blu-ray just had a commentary I think.
