It’s so cool that one of the best screwball comedies of all time is now available in 3-D. I say again, this is a must-have release.

I only happened upon this because I just discovered eyepop and plan D. Now I have a bunch of horror classics converted to 3D on the way. And found a few more old classic films too.

This is the first Plan-D (non-Kickstarter) disc I bought, and it was well worth it. Good picture quality and a fine conversion. The stagey sets offered plenty of opportunities for straightforward but effective 3D framing and layering. Nothing spectacular, but it felt right for the material. The only distraction occurred when Grant and Russell lit up in his office; their cigarette smoke teleported to random depths across the office - it was amusing to guess where it would show up next.

The film itself was better than I remembered. A bit too smug and flip for me at first, but the blistering screenplay proved irresistible as it went on. Addictive even. A great comedy.

The bonus 3D Superman animated short was sensational. No wonder this forum has been raving about them. Absolutely stellar 3D.

I must admit when it was first discussed I wasn't sure as the dialogue is so fast that I thought the 3d may make it overwhelming but once I saw the first 10 minutes I really got into it.

As with all these conversions I now can't really imagine watching the films in 2D again.
