I see more and more BD players going out the door along with BD movies. HD is sucking big time. The sales between the two at our store is 7 bd to 1 HD. I have a bet with a HD Fanboy that i work with. Man I bet he is going to be sorry at the end of december.

I got the last copy of Superman Returns at my BB. They said they didnt get any of the original in. Called another one and they said it was sold out. I liked BluRay so much better when I was the only one buying them.

Anyone know what B&M store may have the original?

Are you sayin that for every HD-DVD player you are selling 7(!) BD players?

I am noticing similar numbers from Region 3 (includes Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina) at Tweeter. The preorders from just the Sony player equals that of the HD-A2. Then there are the Panasonic, Samsung, and preorders for the Pioneer players.

Excellent. Has this been all along, or have you seen a boost since the PS/3 arrived?

I don't think its entirely coincidental that the day of the PS3 launch was also the day that Blu-ray began a heavy marketing push on TV. A goood marketing campaign with title availability will turn things in Blu-rays favor. Player cost is still the one thing HD-DVD can currently point to as an advantage. The average consumer doesn't give a rat's behind about codecs.

A discounted HDA2 will still be a pretty cheap player. They are available for preorder..Other than that...still don't see one advantage of HD-DVD over Blu-ray. Not one!

I love Best Buy. Just purchased a PS3 there today. I've spent a lot of moolah there over the years. What I don't like is the sales guys trying to shove the extended warranty down my throat. Three different employees basically told me I was an idiot for not buying the $99 EW. Big turn off.

I will not buy any BD movies at BB until they drop their prices. They are much higher than anyone.

If you have a Gmail account, buy 'em at Buy.com using the Google Checkout promotion.

As far as HD-DVD players being sold out, I think we may be seeing them in the second-hand market or E-bay. Those who want to get into HD-DVD for cheap can only get them second-hand while those who want to get out of HD-DVD are only happier to part with them.
