The price is steep, but might be worth it for true fans.

Looking at the shop listing for this release, it strikes me that the sample images are all frame grabs from the show itself, not publicity photographs. Comparing the quality of those against the frame grabs from the US edition in blu-ray.com review there is a world of difference in terms of definition not present on the Mill Creek release.

no comparison at all, imho. Imprint clearly superior - in PQ and price!

That's a big leap to make. I suspect the new set will be vastly improved, but I'd wait before making pronouncements.

These sets are way too expensive to preorder without reviews, imho

I said there was a world of difference between those screen shots and what ended up on the Mill Creek release - that is a fact.

The quickest episode to identify was the wedding one, so below is x2 comparison from the compressed shop image to a grab from my DVD set.

I hadn't bothered to look closely at the blu-ray review of the Mill Creek BD until the other day having ignored the release due to the damning reviews. What I didn't realise was the combing / field issues present. That is simply appalling.

[QUOTE=Jar Jar Stinks;22505194]Has it been confirmed they'll not be using the same masters on the Mill Creek set?[/QUOTE

No, apparently, these are new remasters.

And that was one of the better authored scenes!

Have other Imprint releases/remastering ever get picked up by other companies? Looking at the trailer this looks great, but it is a painful price.

Kino has picked up some titles, but never saw them pick up a series. Anything is possible, of course

A better question would be who else does Sony license to? and the answer is pretty much just Mill Creek so I'd say the chances are low.

Capelight in Germany could be a possibility if they are interested as they have put out Dawson's Creek, but I wouldn't count on it.

Powerhouse in the UK does stuff from Sony .A LE set from the would be reasonable priced or a standard no frills set from Imprint would be nice . Hope its selling well enough to sell out , Jbhifi does not have it .

It’s at the end of May. You could just Google this kind of stuff.

That is where I get all my Aussie box sets. Even with shipping to the US, the B2G1 sales can't be beat, imho
