I am not familiar with the subs on the HK blu-ray but as a Cantonese speaker I thought the English subs on the Shout release were not great. I am pretty forgiving when the subtitles may not translate exactly what the characters are saying but at least captures the gist and meaning of it. Well, there were multiple instances in the two films where the English subs did not even reach that level for me. Probably the worst English subs I have encountered so far for these releases.
