That's the only thing I don't miss about having a large dog. My St. Bernard's shedding was a full time job. That and slobber patrol. You'd be amazed where I'd find that stuff slung.

Not to get away from the big dog discussion but does any one else's dog attack their TV?

My oldest mini schnauzer, Auggie (3), goes after other dogs, lions, tigers, bears, horses, cats, etc...it even barks and jumps when little kids are on the screen.
The second one (Gus, 2) will go after the TV only when something really intrigues him but no where near as bad as Auggie. The 3rd (Brady, 1-2 yrs old) wouldn't know what a TV was if you hit him with it...he's a little challenged in his learning names of objects or being visually observant.

Forget watching ANYTHING on Animal Planet, any horse race or pretty much any Disney cartoon...where I can I hold him back but often he will just go after the TV unannounced. He finally stops after yelling at him and telling him no but he won't stop when it is noticed he is going towards it and you issue a corrective command - god damned stubborn schnauzers...

My dog doesn't attack the TV, but if a doorbell rings on screen, she runs to the door just barking up a storm. I have to pause the movie for a good 5 minutes while I get her to settle down.

Our daughter's Pomeranian does that cute little cocking of the head thing when she hears dog barking on the TV.

I'm still trying to figure out what is going to work best...I'd hate to do it but some sort of corrective collar might be what I need for him...maybe the citronella kind (before I resort to a shock collar)
