Ya know, it kinda looks like you are calling people "Sony ants"...

It was a format war fought on forums in the internet. Sometimes with moderators carrying the torch for one side and using their power to push their agendas. (remember Blurry?).

And really, please. Go back and read some of the commentary made by the HD DVD cabal when they still believed the format had a chance. Nothing but fabricated, vitriol-fueled screeds of panic and rage.

As they say in professional sports, "Call it both ways, Ref."
Sorry if I was unclear, but I COMPLETELY agree with your post. The piss & moan bashing occurs equally from both camps. Sorry for the confusion.

But I just don't get all the HEATED PASSIONED HATRED for the now dead rival format. People are posting all of these taunting messages like HD-DUD is Hitler or something. I always thought BD was a superior format, but I waited on the sidelines until the WB announcement because (like many) I didn't want to own the library full of Betamax tapes Once I took the BD plunge, I jumped in with both feet and have bought over 30 discs in the last month. And I LOVE it.

So yes, I understand wanting to be on "the right side" and not have your investment be a huge mistake, but the intense personal nature and hatred of the other technology, I just don't get... To quote Dr. Evil "It's a fricken laser..."

Just my $.02. Let the flames begin...
Since you expected to be flamed, I will consider your post flame-bait.

Yeah, I agree 100%. A red fanboy and a blu fanboy are exactly the same in tactic and persona, they're just a different color. Neither realizes they mix their kool-aid with the same water.

I agree, I was not trying to say its all coming from the BD side, there are some die hard HD-DVD people who are the same way. Hell, I met one in my local store last night. He was telling his friend NOT to buy BD, because HD-DVD will still survive. I asked him how exactly, I said, listen, I'll buy some HD-DVD bargains myself and not sell all my movies, but the format is dead. He got pissed and told me I didnt know what I was talking about.

There's many more on the "RED" side, & with them it was/is the lies that did it...
