Wonder which studio they worked with specifically. I know the rights are split.

I hope that means the 5.1 remix rather than the actual restoration.

They only have home video and streaming rights. Universal has TV rights and Paramount has theatrical rights under the new deals made in 2014. It's really Universal's movie downright.

I also wrote to them nicely begging for the Mono mix and original audio for The Wiz, but also for Sorcerer I asked if they could please give more info on the 2.0 stereo mix included, hoping it’s not a 5.1 downmix

Well if WB has home video rights then wouldn't the deal be with WB then since this is a home video release?

That has to be one of the worst covers they've done in a while.

This is great news.
Cool that it includes Friedkin Uncut for those that don’t own it already.

I never heard of any such mono mix being created, if it was ideally would just have been a downmixed version of the stereo track.

Depends if the deal expired, if it did ideally they'd get it from Universal.

Putting 2 and 3 together perhaps, but could this also be a sign Criterion truly has obtained the French Connection for a likely Nov release? Different studios, but they do like to package interviews and the like for multiple releases.
