Yes, this was definitely one of the better documentaries. The fact that Paul Reuben was adversarial throughout the interviews makes it for such a compelling watch, as well as his final audio recording a day before his death. What a fascinating journey.
I am sad it seems he and Phil Hartman never reconciled before Hartman’s murder. |

I thought it was fine.
I think I would have preferred a whole documentary on The Groundlings. But it's a safe, simple biography of the main subject of the the documentary. Which is not bad, but tries too hard to gloss over some of the controversies of his personality (controlling, and manipulative - which was touched upon in a roundabout way). Whatever the case, it's easy to feel love for someone that brought so much love and joy for generations. |
