One of the steelbooks will use the teaser poster and the other will use the big setpiece shot. That's how they've done it for the previous two.

Leave them be.

It's the same morons who called Dead Reckoning a flop, when it has 96% Critics and 94% Audience scores on RT lol.

Yeah, because it's some stupid percents that matters the most, not the dollars from the box office

I have Dead Reckoning on Blu-ray, I’m sure they’ll be a double 4K pack of both Dead Reckoning & The Final Reckoning, & that’s the one I’ll be buying (that’ll be an epic watch, but you can choose your loo breaks at home).

That is what should matter the most to you unless you've got money in this movie. You're reacting to the rare person who must actually think that a "flop" has to do with the only thing a viewer should care about - quality. That person just hasn't realized that box office is a sport and a movie can make $600,000,000, but if it's budget x multplier is at least $600,000,001 it's a "flop".

We can all skip to the end of this one - there is no way it's going to be in the black during it's theatrical run. I can't even see the optimistic 4-day opening weekend forecast happening. I also do not care. I'd only care if the box office was dependent on it getting a UHD release.

I have loved every single MI movie so far. Some more than others, but all of them are bangers.

You know there will be an "ultimate box set" with all the movies. Will wait for that (unless, of course, they charge a Middle Earth box set price for it...)

Box office shouldn't decide if you like a movie or not, but if a film losses a bunch of money it is a flop.

There are many movies now are too high budgeted, too long, too polished and so on. This newest movie will probably have to make a billion to profit. Mission Impossible is loved, but it nor James Bond are popular enough in the US to where they can expect these films to make a billion.

I'm hoping for this too, since I have the 1-6 4k collection already (which is already a great set), and didn't want to pick up dead reckoning after I found out they dropped the subtitle post-release. But my instincts tell me that we will only get a solo release + 8 movie boxset unless Paramount really does get their act together and pay for their sin (dropping "part one" after disc release)

The problem is that Paramount doesn't usually include both movie BDs and special features BDs in their box sets, it's either one of the other. You're still better off buying them individually if you want everything.

I feel like all of us who don’t actually have skin in the game should give the last two Mission Impossibles a pass on the budget - its so bloated because they kept paying everyone through COVID afaik

Idk about other Paramount releases but the 6-movie set has all the bonus discs you’d get with the individual releases too

Both look shite, in my humble opinion.

This one?

It only has the bonus disc for Fallout. It's missing the ones for 3, Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation, which are included on the individual releases.

Huh

Yeah guess I miscounted because looking at mine (white cover art) it also only has 13 discs

Okay that’s annoying. Especially as in the UK we don’t have individual non-steelbook releases of any before Fallout anyway. I thought those 3 seemed kinda light on them!

Went to cinema for the first time in over a year for the final Mission. I dearly love these films and consider the first one, Rogue Nation and Fallout to be masterful but The Final Reckoning is a disappointment. I’m saying this with a heavy heart when seeing Cruise’s accomplishments in the film but they’re not enough to carry the rest over the finish line.

It’s not often that I fully agree with David Ehrlich but this time I do. There are spoilers in his review: https://www.indiewire.com/criticism/...ew-1235122988/

Since I'll probably watch this at some point I'll skip the spoiler review, but I'm curious: did you think it was better or worse than Dead Reckoning (or whatever the last Mission Impossible movie was called)?

It’s worse but as they’re both technically two halves of one larger story, I think it’s better to look at them combined. In that vein, they’re clearly inferior to parts 5 and 6 but only because of how high a bar the filmmakers set with these two. I think it would’ve been wise to either have the series culminate with Fallout or change writers and directors, but with McQuarrie having done two absolute highlights it’s understandable that he’d be allowed to continue (and Mission Impossible in general).

In an ideal world, Dead Reckoning and Final Reckoning would’ve both been shorter, denser films or have the best of both combined into one, which I feel would’ve been possible in the editing room and a more precise script.
