Since I know Criterion will eventually release everything, I'd rather wait for the eventual CC releases for everything going forward, if only for consistency.

Same here. Although last year I snagged the barebones BD edition of The French Dispatch on Amazon for like $5.00 shipped, so when I eventually get the Criterion 4K UHD of that one, it's not gonna hurt at all.

That’s the same look and gesture I’m giving in response to that artwork.

I'm sure this will eventually (RE: a few years) get a Criterion release. I can wait however many years rather than have it immediately, especially if that UK art gets used here. Reminds me of the mid-00's Photoshop trash on DVD.

Well, not even Criterion is entirely consistent. Wes Anderson films come in either regular cases or cardboard digipacks. So such a collection does look kinda inconsistent on the shelf.

I personally enjoyed it more than Asteroid City or French Dispatch, but unless you are a ride or die Wes Anderson fan at this point I think there isn’t much point to even watch much less buy his movies. The fun, feel good, universal appeal of his films ended (and peaked) with Grand Budapest Hotel. If you like Anderson, I think TPS is a bit of a return to form but certainly still a weird, non-standard narrative with some funny bits, some pathos and heart, but mostly a bunch of twee nonsense. I’d recommend to hardcore Anderson fans only (like myself).

I think it's the opposite, it looks nothing like a Wes Anderson movie from that cover. They should've gone with something like this if they wanted to emphasize it's him:

Asteroid City was absolutely fun and feel-good! And I much preferred it to this.

That bathtub poster would make a good CC cover.
Too bad Criterion couldn't add this to upcoming Dogs and Dispatch release.
I agree- it might take 5-7 years.

Damn, the 4K just hit my doorstep. Might have to give it a spin tomorrow evening, after Fantastic Four: First Steps & Happy Gilmore 2!

The 4k looks phenomenal and has a kick ass Dolby Atmos sound mix.
