Chang Cheh and Jess Franco for me. Both of whom seem to love topless gore and wacky zooms!

It doesn't appear cartoon shorts count unfortunately as I have tons of animation. I'd expect to see them in my stats but there aren't any except Frank Welker, which must be solely for his adr/sfx work.

Out of the Eureka sets of Shaw Bros films would anybody say this one is the most worth it due to the amount of releases and quality of films?

Cause I was going to nab the Chang Cheh set with Magnificent Trio and Magnificent Wanderers but I passed on it since I heard the films were goofier than expected/hoped for.

I like my Shaw Bros told straight with maybe hints of light comedy.

Shame but it will give me some space to get through Shout's Vol 7 and the Eureka Lo Wei set before it turns up.

They also added this:

The set will now be strictly limited to a single pressing of 2,000 copies and will not be reissued once sold out.

Also, as an addition to the extra features we can now also confirm that the following films included in the set will have optional English Dubs: Men from the Monastery, Shaolin Martial Arts, Iron Bodyguard, The Weird Man, The Trail of the Broken Blade, New Shaolin Boxers.

That's surprising and unfortunate news about the single pressing only. I thought they meant that they wouldn't do a standard edition of the 10-film set, but it seems to imply they're not breaking the set down into volumes later either?

I reached out to Eureka just to check if the single pressing thing was merely for the 10-film set itself, or for the films, and it is indeed for the films. They will go OOP once this LE sells out. Strangely, it seems like they're the ones making this decision, rather than simply being a short licensing window that wouldn't allow future standard editions to come out.

Hi Michael,

This is the only one you will be able to obtain these films, unless another label re-issues them in 3-4 years.

We have made the decision not to re-issue these and you can only get them in this set.
Many thanks,
Matthew

Yeah, surprised they wouldn’t break them up into smaller sets somewhere down the line

Trio is a great film, well worth it for that alone. Wanderers is a little goofy.

That's pretty surprising; everything about how the set is put together suggests the plan was originally something like what happened with the Joseph Kuo box.
