Friday 13th part 3 always makes me think of Jaws 2.

It does stop at #2. Agree totally. 3 & 4 are unwatchable so I never did.

That's insultingly small for the size of packaging it's been put in.

Yeah. Not bad. But not terribly good either.

Most of the anecdotes (most of the doc in fact) comes from Spielberg's recollection. Which can be, how shall we say, a little bit "Hollywood" at times.

The neatest tidbit I gleaned was how Howard Sackler (uncredited screenwriter) insisted that the shark had to explode at the end. By hook or by crook. No matter how ludicrous and unrealistic that might be. If the movie sucked it might not make a huge difference or save it. But at least it would go out with a bang.

But if the movie was working. And Spielberg successfully stroked that puppy from beginning to end. With the viewers at the edges of the seats and eating out of your hand, the shark exploding would be the ONLY ending that those audiences would accept.

Amazon's pre-order for the 50th Jaws Anniversary steel book has been cancelled.

Zavvi and HMV say sold out and the only copies I have come across are higher priced ones on ebay.

When are they bringing out Jaws 1 3D on blu ray 3D? Probably not, other than digital 3D somewhere. That was a few years ago I saw in theaters. The 3D was decent to good, with medium 3D layers for most of it in theaters. Probably 2022 it seemed like.

Maybe that was the 45th anniversary. 5 years goes fast.

I think our best hope for this is going to be via Turbine, one of the only labels still supporting the 3D format in a bigger way. They also have done multiple Universal titles already. I feel like we might get a wave with this, Jaws 3 with carefully tweaked/fixed 3D similar to what they did with Friday the 13th 3D, and whatever they decide to tack on as a 3rd title since they normally do 3 at a time.

I saw Jaws today in the movie theater and it was great. This was my fourth time ever seeing it in the theater. I very much enjoyed it and it’s always a fun experience!

Lucky you! I want to see Jaws in IMAX but the closest IMAX is an hour way and rides are tough to get.

I saw Jaws in 3D a few years ago and that was a fun experience.
