Lair analog control patch confirmed

My copy of lair is sitting on the shelf and i havent even tried it yet, waiting for the patch before i jump in. I hope it also gives us rumble at the same time since i should have my Dual Shock 3 by then as well.

I got the game last weekend (brand new copy for CHEAP hehe)

Seems cool, I have no problems with the controls so far (I usually like the extra challenge of motion control) but Im gonna wait anyways for the rumble patch, and for when I move into my new house in a few weeks and enjoy all that 7.1 goodness

I would have to agree. My only difficulty came when trying to enable the 180 degree turn sometimes. Other than that, it worked really well, especially after the early firmware update that shored up the sixaxis controls.

I would suggest to anyone waiting for the control update before playing Lair to at least give the original control scheme a try. You might actually enjoy it. At the very least it will improve your use of sixaxis controls in general.

That being said, the game really should have been released with both control schemes to begin with. Too many people got consumed with the new tilt control scheme, and failed to recognize the outstanding game the controls were tied to.

It had a good feel to them, I tried it after specfic firmware and I never had issues turning around... that is just me I guess, I noticed the positing of my hands had some bearing on the effectiveness of my flight.

Well, I got it today and I have to say the controls are awful. I am not a fan of the motion controls in any games that I've played and this just makes it absolutely worse. I just played the first mission and flying around trying to kill the other dragons was a tedious task. I'd turn to go after one and if you don't turn the control perfectly left (meaning if you turn it left and turn it up or down at the same time) the camera shoots all over the place.

I probably won't play this until I get the analog patch which is a shame. The game has a good story and good music. I want to play it, but the controls are awful.

I advise just running training until you feel your comfort zone.

Remeber do not over consinate,instead of visualing a f-15, think of the controller like your holding the reigns of the dragon, make some nice slow movements till you have a feel then move your way for more exotic moves.
