Short lived tv series I remember:
Planet of the Apes
Logan's Run
The Night Stalker
And The Time Tunnel only had one year as well as Tales of the Gold Monkey. I have Night Stalker and Time Tunnel on blu ray, will get the others if they ever get released.

Tales of the Gold Monkey is on DVD. Loved that show when it aired. It's been in my Amazon "shopping list" for like five years, and I can't quite seem to pull the trigger. Great theme song; I revisit that on YouTube from time to time.

I've been wanting to revisit some of those late-80s half-hour dramadies to see if any hold up:

Frank's Place
Hooperman
The Slap Maxwell Story
The Days & Nights of Molly Dodd

I too was shocked at Showtime's cancellation. The first season was a success both critically, and from a viewership standpoint. The buildup of what was actually happening on the planet was so powerful ....... to be left hanging like we were, was crazy. To their credit, the creators had no idea they were not going to be renewed for another season. I do own the complete series DVD set that came out in 2006 ...... haven't watched it in years though ...... the lack of plot resolution totally messes with me

Jack & Bobby - This was a wonderful show which ran for one season. Wonderful cast, including Logan Lerman who has since done very well for himself.

EZ Streets - This is the show which always comes to mind. It was from Paul Haggis and was cinematic quality before it became more common with shows like The Sopranos. Wonderful cast, but was part of the Jason Gedrick cancellation curse. I believe not all filmed episodes even aired. There was an oddball DVD release of it with only selected episodes, which just feeds the wound. I think it would just break my heart all over again if someone had the episodes available to watch.

Touching Evil (U.S.) The U.S. version of the UK show was wonderful with Jeffrey Donovan and Vera Farmiga. Should have had many seasons.

Greg the Bunny (2002). Fox was notorious for airing shows out of order and moving them around the schedule; this is one of those shows. 13 episodes were made, and 2 of them never aired.

I own the DVD set, and the show still makes me laugh.

Almost Human - fun sci-fi show with terrific chemistry between the leads

1899 - from the makers of Dark, cancelled on a monster cliffhanger

These days, Fuller has graduated from having his shows canceled early to leaving/being kicked off of shows due to creative differences (Star Trek: Discovery & American Gods). Although Dead Like Me was a precursor to that trend as he left after S1 due to the network changing some of his story lines.

Matt Frewer's Doctor, Doctor (early '90s) was hilarious and got a few seasons but it always seemed to be a half season replacement show for something canceled after the first half of the season.

The following are the shows that I think deserved a longer life.

The Glades (A&E cop show)
Runaway (The CW network in 2006)
Fudge (ABC Saturday morning show in 1995-1996)
Two Of A Kind (ABC sitcom in 1998-1999)
So Little Time (ABC Family sitcom in 2001-2002)

God bless you always!!!

Holly

For better or worse, I either enjoyed the following at the time and would have just liked to have seen more, or where the series could've went or there should've been at least 1 more season to rap things up nicer (Therefore, the actual final season would have obviously been different or at least ended differently.).

AJ & The Queen
Awkward
Dead Boy Detectives
Devious Maids
Glamorous
Hellcats
Insatiable
Instant Star
Jane By Design
Kyle XY
Life Sentence
Love, Victor
Noah's Arc - Thankfully, we at least got 2 movies and there may be another series in the future.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists
Queer As Folk (2022)
Revenge
Scream Queens
Scream: The TV Series
Summerland
The Client List
The Lying Game
Twisted
Why Women Kill

I just came here to say this. Such a bummer that we didn’t get a third season, especially after ending on that hangover
[Show spoiler]with Archie
. WB seemingly trademarked a third season, too, titled “Scene Stealer”. Why even do that if you’re not actually gonna move forward with a new season?

Fock.
