I've never seen this but it's been on my watchlist for a minute. I'll definitely be picking it up. Can we get The 6th Day next?

Good news. A 4K release of Eraser would be cool too, another underrated Arnie film from that era.
As is often the case with US releases, do you play the waiting game and hope for a UK release which may actually never happen or go all in and buy it… |

That’s funny, I recently picked up a used DVD of this for a couple bucks out of nostalgia. It was one of my early DVD purchases back when it came out but it had gone MIA at some point.
It’s not a great movie— it’s pretty typical late 90s where filmmakers were playing around with their new CGI toys and it’s kind of hokey, but I enjoy it. |

If it's Arnold, I'm always pretty much in. Much of this one didn't stay in my memory bank for too long. It's like "Sabotage" or "The Last Stand" where I'd not call it a classic, but I want to own it on the best format.

THIS. And of course, still champing at the bit for Outland, Relic, 2010, and others, any and all of which are overdue for a fresh 4k scan and ace mastering/compression. Wouldn't we all like to see a bit more dark detail in Relic, but without elevated black levels
![]() Perhaps unfortunately, his catalog is scattered across the four corners of the industry...WB, Paramount, Universal, etc., so you never know where or when that next Hyams 4k might break out....I'll take whatever Hyams I can get on 4k. I'd even scoop a Sound of Thunder uhd. It's never so much as had a blu ray. Last edited by DaylightsEnd; 08-04-2025 at 03:40 PM. |

Enjoyed this one back then but haven't seen the movie in decades. It had one of the better soundtracks in the early days of dvd. I also had the LD back in the day, which was like the second last domestic release on the format and it, too, had a really strong sound mix.

Wow, glad that Shout got an interview with Hyams! I remember Kino mentioning that he wouldn’t collaborate with them, so they released Sudden Death without his involvement.

I remember reading "2061: Odyssey Three" and wondering how amazing that movie would have been if Peter Hyams came back as director.
