Good news, I reached out to Hammer, and just got confirmation that it is indeed an upcoming WAC release too!

Normally labels do not supply stock to overseas retailers themselves. Instead they supply stock to various distributors. These distributors will typical be quite large operations who distribute everything from Blu-rays to vinyl records to retailers around the world.

If you have ever seen one of OrbitDVDs restock photos on social media, you will have noticed that the boxes they receive, contains titles from a number of labels. This is because these boxes come from a wholesale distributor, like for example lasgo.com, and not directly from the labels themselves.

I really want to get this one, but I'm scared once I do down the rabbit hole for this one, I'll end up buying all the Hammer uber-editions.

One of Hammer's best! Looks like the UK release carries over everything from the WAC US Blu and the Lionsgate UK disc, save the World of Hammer episode (which seem to appear everywhere if you have some Hammer releases) and Four Sided Triangle (which now has its own 4K). The Flesh & Blood documentary on the bonus disc is great and was the last production Peter Cushing participated in before his death. It was also a bonus on Imprint's Hammer Gothic box set from a few years back, though that did not have the outtakes and other extras that are on this disc. I'll definitely be getting the big Hammer version when it's for sale from Orbit or Diabolik.

Besides the 6th disc that's exclusive to the UK release, it sounds like all 5 other discs are being ported over, but in separate 4K and BD editions.

The UK set is basically

2 4K's with the film, 2 BD's with the film, 1 BD with extras, a bonus BD (LE exclusive) with the TV pilot

US editions are:

2 4K's with the film, 1 BD with extras
2 BD's with the film, 1 BD with extras

So combined, those should be the same 5 discs as the UK.

Sounds like these will be exclusive to the Hammer LCE

Flesh and Blood (LCE exclusive): Made in conjunction with Hammer and first transmitted on TV in 1994, Ted Newsom’s fascinating feature-length documentary features a wealth of interview material and joint narration by Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
Mr Cushing and Mr Lee (LCE exclusive): A behind-the-scenes recording made during the narration sessions for Flesh and Blood. It was Peter Cushing’s last work for Hammer and is a unique record of a strong friendship between himself and Lee that lasted four decades.
Flesh and Blood Narration Outtakes (LCE exclusive): During the recording of the narration, not everything went to plan... twenty minutes of audio outtakes alongside candid pictures taken on the day.
Tales of Frankenstein (LCE exclusive): The success of The Curse of Frankenstein saw Columbia entering into a production deal with Hammer to create a pilot for a new anthology series starring Anton Diffring as Frankenstein. The pilot did not go to series and ultimately lapsed into Public Domain.
Tales of Frankenstein Commentary (LCE exclusive): 2001 commentary with Ted Newsom, Gary Smith and Stuart Galbraith
The Tale of Tales of Frankenstein (LCE exclusive): An examination of the circumstances surrounding the production of Tales of Frankenstein by Hammer expert and documentarian Ted Newsom.

Just in case anyone was wondering about the Hammer UK box, I just had confirmation from them via email that all 6 discs, including the UHDs, in their UK Box Limited Edition will be region B locked.

Thanks! Between only having 1 region free player and the import fees I’m okay missing out on the pilot. I’m sure it will be on YouTube eventually.

Looks like Warner turning nasty as they didn’t make Second Sight do that for The Hitcher, although in this case excluding the the LE BD disc the content is identical between the Hammer and WAC versions, just WAC giving you the choice of UHD or BD day 1.

If they actually region lock the 4K discs that would be Horrible! Almost nobody locks 4K and it would set a nasty precedent for sure!

Not really. Warner owns the film; Hammer does not. They are essentially "allowing" Hammer to release their own edition, with stipulations of course.

Undoubtedly the region locking will continue if Hammer gives us UHD sets of DRACULA and THE MUMMY, both of which are controlled by Warner in the States.

That's some straight up bullshit, but it does make it easier to pass on the UK set as there really isn't a way to easily make your player region-free for 4K UHD.
