I'm all for this insane rush to throw out "placeholder date, no art, trust us guys it's awesome, no drop $60 on something that we won't tell you what it looks like" approach studios have taken and retailers have accepted and passed on to us but going pants on head moronic the other direction to spite customers isn't the answer either.

It's not like they forgot they ordered, approved, and had notice they would be getting these well in advance, only to suddenly remember they were arriving a couple weeks ago.

So, this and Legacy are supposed to be release in 2 weeks but they still aren't available for pre-order? WTF? I just don't get it.

A couple years back they had a stretch where they didn't put up the steels until like a week or so before. I may be misremembering, but I wanna say the animated Mulan steel went up about a week or so before it dropped. Wouldn't be surprised to see something similar happen here, and orders start to ship a couple days past the supposed release date.

The worst part about the delay is the MU $15 off promo code for August has now expired.

I don't want to pay MU's higher prices but I also don't want to risk Amazon's pre-order dice roll and possible damage in transit. MU has never damaged any of the several steels I've ordered from them this year.

Amazon has been crazy late with new releases lately. I had a pre-order that was going to arrive 6 weeks after the release date, and when I check the item page on Amazon just after the release date, Amazon said it would arrive in 2 days ... so I ordered a second one and it, indeed shipped almost right away, and then miraculously the first one ordered, shipped a day later ... despite the order info page saying weeks away. 3-4 titles lately have had some delay to massive delays, while other retailers say shipping on release date. Amazon is slipping. And I also cringe when the packages arrive for SteelBooks in the flimsy bubble mailers ... I rejoice when I see a box, how sad.

I was able to get a pre-order in for this one.

But I sadly missed Legacy.

That really sucks because that is my favorite of the two films.

I hope it comes back at Walmart because Target prices these higher AND I can't trust Amazon with packaging steelbooks properly.

Im hoping this was just some error where Walmart wasn’t supposed to post preorders yet and the temporarily took it down. It looks like there was a window of only about an hour to order them. Usually they announce when preorders will be available. If not hopefully Amazon or Target get these.

Yes, the do. $74.99 each. EACH. That's obscene. I checked it out after I saw your post because I was hoping you meant $74.99 for the BOTH steelbooks. As much as I want these, there is no way in Hell I'm paying $74.99 for these steelbooks.

HD Movie Source had them a bit cheaper on eBay for $48 + $10 shipping. I went with that option using paypal payments.
