Good news. But again, with my opinion from working retail. The 360's are in a gigantic backorder from Christmas. Stores don't have them so they're not selling. And not that the 360 hopefulls are then picking up PS3's, just the sales are overtaking 360 from their lack of consoles out. I think the lack f knowledge the general public has about the PS3 will continue to hurt it's sales at least until Q3 this year. But hopefully the additional price cut that's supposed to happen in fall/winter plus all the fantastic games coming out later this year will swing PS3 around and show huge gaps between itself and the 360.

PlayStation 3 with 34.8% of the market and Xbox with 29.8%, they each have about a third of the market. No body is going anywhere, Market share only matters if someone is going away. And I don't see that happening. No game developer is going to drop either platform because of sales. I think Playstation 3 got a boost with Blu-ray blessed as the winner of the new Movie format battle, and Halo bumped Xbox for the holidays. Each platform is locking into their niche. Now if the Wii adds a first person shooter better then Halo, and adds a Blu-ray drive for just a few dollars more, well then it will get interesting. But my bet is you will see motion sensitive controlers coming to both the Xbox and the PS3 soon. To me the real question is when will Microsoft give up on the HD format, or at least start selling a Blu-ray add on drive.

Pretty sure the PS3's controller is motion sensitive. But I'm not sure

Personally I think the "backorder" swill is just crap. I've been to two major metropolitan areas in as many days. In these cities, plus the city where I live 360s are NOT scarce. PS3s, on the other hand? The shelves aren't bare, but they don't seem to be gathering dust on those shelves, either. I certainly can't say I've noticed any shortage through January.

Anecdotal? Sure is, but if there were this shortage that M$ blames for the sluggish sales I think you'd see SOME hint of it in major stores in major cities

360 is cheap garbage. end of story. In the end however, the 360 is actually more expensive, since you need to be 100 add ons to get most the features the ps3 has by default.

I couldn't stand that guy either but most of the ppl on this site are fanboys. I have all 3 consoles, and use all consoles different, fanboys are annoying.

i would say someone who spouts off rumors and gossip as fact. views his side as 100% right and the other side as 100% wrong, no middle ground. will NEVER acknowledge things wrong with his side or things done right with the competition.
