What I want to know is, do you think this will make the DUDsters even more angry than before because they were the most loyal studio to HD DVD and now they are finally dropping it. What do you think Nfinity and Truthteller have to say about that? I'd say they'd still bicker on about downloadable content and all that s*it that M$ is trying to shove down our throats. Well I'd say to them, "what about when UHDTV comes out in 20 years?"

Truth Teller will seclude himself in his basement for the next few years until Digitial Downloads takes over as he claims is "inevitable" if I remember correctly...

Sadly...or not so sadly (you pick) nfinity has probably gone totally insane by now and has been committed by family members to mental institution in California with Britney Spears...

And oh I didn't "reluctantly" join Bluray. I saw that HD DVD was pretty much dead and I decided to wait and see if it was completely dead. After all both sides had been claiming the same thing since the format war started.

I'm very happy with Bluray. It has some minor issues but I think the potential is HUGE. And if things go the right way it should have little problem replacing DVD's.

Thats up to the BDA however and consumers like us to spread the news around, etc...

That's what I am hoping to see - better encodes.

Warner felt they had to release through the end of May to fulfill their contractual obligations, but at this point I imagine they're going to be asking Toshiba, "Come on...are you really going to make us do this?"

Don't expect WB to drop their support earlier then what they already gave. WB always had a bit more love towards HD DVD, until they went Blu. I think they still have a soft spot for HD DVD still. Which is fine, I really don't care cause we are getting their movies on BD anyways. I want Paramount and Universal to announce some plans now for future BD movies. It has been two weeks since the Toshiba announcement. Time to give everyone some insight to when we can expect some movies.

Actually, the whole thing would be better if this was the HD DVD funeral music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXk-2...eature=related

Regarding how all of the other studios dropping HD DVD cold may affect Warner's plans to follow thru with HD DVD releases through May (June if you count the 3-week delay),

please cast your view/view in my thread:

Will Warner drop HD DVD before their announced May deadline???

It is smart business given the fact that a lot of these releases are already finished and waiting to ship or very near end-of-process. Get SOMETHING of a return from all the money alreay spent...or just eat it all?

And there's something to be said for a company keeping the promises they made (unlike Paramount)

It is good to see Universal ending the HD DVD farce. Now move your a$$ and release some Blu-ray movies.

All we need now is for Warner to accellerate dropping the DUD so the Dudders can finally issue out an Amber Alert for HD DUD
