I think Robert Rodriguez is the one of the most inspiring directors of all time. His movies might not be perfect but the way he talks about movies is awesome.

If you ever get the chance read Rebel without a crew and then watch all of his Ten minute film schools.

I'll have to try to find that. I have watched all of the ten minute film schools...amazing. One of the reasons he's my favorite.

I chose Spielberg, But Guillermo del Toro is also impressing me lately. What no Takashi Miike?

Ridley Scott
Kurosawa
Coen Brothers

In that order probably (or depending on the day Kurosawa possibly first). There are various other directors, but none match those three in breadth of titles I loved (each has 5+ movies that I could put in my all time favorites).

Who made this Poll? What about...

"Woody
Francis Ford Coppola
Federico Fellini "

Pound for Pound, Woody is by far the greatest ever.

Greatest percentage of Amazing films of all time. Great Directors usually have 1, 2 maybe 3 great films. Woody has about 12.

This Poll is useless.
