So where is that supposed 'announcement' from Paramount? - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

Yeah, the problem is people start throwing around the 'official' word. It was always just hopeful/wishful speculation.

I'm still hopeful as well. It's only noon on the west coast.

The 'embargo' till March 4 mentioned earlier, combined with the fact that today marks the release date of Paramount final two HDDVDs ever, is where the hope came from.

Even if we get nothing today, I will still anticipate Friday, as a lot of news likes to come out then as well.

At this point I highly doubt that we'll hear anything from them regarding movie releases...

It sucks but w/e...

Right now I'm just hoping for a BOGO on Amazon and saving money up for my Profile 2.0 player...one that has all the audio and picture features needed. Hopefully the BD50 will deliver.

The only announcement I have seen today is that our QB #4 Favre is retiring, which is not the news I was expecting to hear today!

It's still early, it's 2:35pm here in central Texas, blu-ray has won the format war so we have nothing to worry about. Just kick back and wait day by day

I'm tired of waiting. Whats so hard about picking a day a couple months from now for releases. Gives them plenty of time and something for us to talk about besides their inability to commit.

Agreed...its not exactly rocket science.

All it takes a few freaking words, some random dates, and a little bit of detail.

Just do it already and end the agony/confusion.

Also, theyve both already announced their final HDDVD titles. Well Paramount anyway. I dont see them completely giving up on HD media all together. Blu WILL come.
