I haven't bought this yet but I'll be getting the double pack which has AvP collector's edition in it. I couldn't care less about BD-L or PiP.

I never double dip for extra features. I only do it for extended editions of the sort or a massive much needed image and sound remaster.

No mention of any remastering picture and sound is there?

I seem to remember people praising AVP's picture and sound when it came out on BD.

I am very confident that Fox will re-master AVP-1 as the AVP-1 trailers in their Blu-rays are encoded using high bit rate AVC. Looks like my patience is being rewarded with respect to this title. If Studios keep double dipping like this it will surely pizz off many buyers.

Well, that's all fine and good, but I'd rather see talk of a re-release of Die Hard 4 with an unrated version on there. I bought 1-3 separately instead of in the box in anticipation of one day getting the unrated DH4. I don't think a ton of people were dying for a fancy special features version of AvP.

Oh, and btw, my 100th post! Woo! I officially have too much free time!
