I'm back....... Guinness and Blantons have calmed my nerves, but yeah, it's "talk" time. My wife of course blames me and thinks I should put the speakers in another room (it's not really a good option in our current house) I talked about doing a spare room, but since one room is devoted to our kid, the other room would have to lose a bed, dresser, and cabinet that's in there, and then we'd have no guest room, so she's against that... (we have a 3 br, and the basement is finished, but the same issue would be there with the kid going down there) There's a lot of issues that are hard to explain in the matter..... (like the Nanny speaks Ukrainian, and although my wife knows Ukie, I can't speak a word of it)

Fortunately I'm in good standing with the local shop (20 min. away or so) and he had one spare in the shop, and is ordering another from England (the speakers are at a warehouse in the Boston area, but parts need to come straight from over the pond I guess) apparently it's such a common problem, they routinely get replacement tweeters from them, and just box up the ones the customer's kids push in........ He gave me the one he had, and he's getting me another.... all at no cost, I just have to toss the busted ones in the part-boxes, and bring them back. It's a great shop... I think I'll buy a new T.V. as a sign of thanks (wait until the wife finds out!)

The issue needs resolved though, so my wife is going to speak with her tomorrow (plus she'll see that I removed BOTH tweeter assemblies, so it's gonna be obvious that she knows something is up there!)

She really is great with our son, she's reasonable on her rate, and she's a nice person....... We appreciate the fact that she's great with our kid, but she needs to keep an eye on hers at the same time, and 3 year olds are a handful....... I'm sure we'll work something out, she's just gotta put the fear of god in her kid!!!!!!

on a brighter note, this caused my wife to look up more new homes....... dedicated theater here I come!!!!

it's always good when things can be worked out, as for the kid just get one of those invisible dog fences or a break beam sensor with a mild sedative gas

The guy at the store suggested some of that sticky tack stuff you can use to hang pictures on the wall, etc..... but I don't think that'll get the job done, and I don't want to ruin the speakers by super-glueing the tweeter screens on either, and the wife has decided that setting everything up in the spare bedroom is a TERRIBLE idea, and it looks like she wants me to disconnect everything (that's right, no more blu for me) and put it in storage until we have a new home...... that could be 1-2 years, I just don't like that Idea. If anything we'd put the Blu-player in our room, but I'd be without my audio for a LONG time, and audio is more important to me than Blu/video, so I'm having "issues" with her suggestions.

My wife is having the "talk" with her today.... needless to say I'm eagerly awaiting her phone.

i would work on getting those speakers up higher i know they are somewhat big but there has to be a way, its better than not having any speakers at all . i would start to worry about my mains and center too.

I have them on these stands (in black)

http://www.hometheaterstore.com/B_W_...ds_p/fs700.htm

The reason I got these stands were because the speakers are designed to be secured to the stand, and they're also HEAVY.

If I put these stands on something taller, I'd worry about it getting knocked over, besides our viewing room is our living-room, so anything I could come up with would probably look terrible, and getting the Center speaker up high would be tough (it's too deep to sit on the mantle) and the fronts (703's) are heavy, and again, the last thing I want is to put them on something and have one get knocked over on it's side..... as they sit now, they're very stable, and I have them between audio-racks, and the Television stand, so there is only 6 inches on either side, so they can't get knocked over.

It's a bad situation all around...... I should be hearing from the wife within an hour or so, to find out how the "talk" went......
