Seriously this whole price matching crap is stupid and I don't even work in retail. People just love to be cheap these days. If you want a cheaper price then go to a store that has it at your preferred pricepoint...

Don't try to screw a company out of money just cuz you feel entitled to something you really aren't.
seriously? if a store has a policy of price matching, you price match. wow.

the bby i work at price matches anything..we just make sure the deal is legit

case in point

i matched targets bogo deal this week..they makred both dvds to 14.99 to match the $29.99 limitation

i matched walmart for 18.77..showed them the online price

hell ive price matched an electronics store in maine just to close a sale with a customer....

i think one person has a bad time and it rubs off on others...

i do hope that frys rainbow 39.99 is legit...because then i will buy it..if not ill stick to cod 4 on live

i bought my copy of this movie at a target store the other day for $29.99 and boy was i pissed today to see it on target.com for $18.95. so i called the store and they said they dont price match the online price and that they are not apart of target.com.

i said WHAT??? target.com and target a store are the same company. how can you offer one price online and not honor it in the store?? boy was i pissed off. so i called the 800 number to target and got some some guy from india on the phone who i could barely understand (please get english speaking peopl to answer your phones!!) anyways he told me they could not honor the price. so now i can not even return it because i opened it and watched it already. anyone know anything i can do?? i mean this is BS really. he said that their online website has very competative pricing thats why it is low. i told him thats BS and you are ripping peopl off!!!!

In any case, I am not exaggerating here, my Best Buy had 110-125 copies of I Am Legend on Blu Ray, taking up an entire shelf by themselves.

Now this would not be sensible at all even if the price was 24.99. There is no way they are going to be able to sell even a quarter of those at 34.99 when Amazon is charging half that.

anybody else's best buys have this issue? this is the most blu rays of one movie I have seen yet in stock.
Does sound like an excessive amount. Maybe go back in a week and see how many are left. Might be an interesting indication on how much blu-ray is picking up by J6Ps.

Actually it is the retailers that came up with price-matching, not the consumers. If they want to do it, then they have that is a call they can make. Unless you are a stock holder for Best Buy, or another retailer, why do you care if someone wants to take advantage of price matching? It's a free country, that statement is true, so let those that want to price match do just that, if others don't such as yourself, you have that right, but chances are you price match just like everyone else does.

amazon.com has it for $18.95 http://www.amazon.com/Am-Legend-Blu-...6057306&sr=8-1
but you probably would have to buy another blue ray disc to get your free shipping.

It is legit, the full page Fry's ad here in Seattle from last Sunday's paper on the back of the Sports section clearly showed the game and the price (limit one per customer). The deal is only good from Thursday-Saturday so you are given a small window of opportunity to get it at that price.

Actually all you need to do is take the movie back to Target with your receipt and let them give you another one perhaps citing it doesn't work.. Hopefully they won't open the package and give you a new sealed one. If they do, leave the store, and then go back the next day and return it and tell them to look up your receipt, which they should run when you initially made the return. They should then refund you your purchase price. Of course this only works if when you take the first one back and they give you a "sealed" one. If they wont simply honor their online price with the in store price, you have to beat them at their own game.

The concept itself sounds all nice and everything but I feel like its abused way too much.

To me if a company is selling something at a price its their choice what price to set. Me as a consumer I have the choice to leave and go elsewhere.

But w/e it just irks me how people do the same sh*t over and over again. Go to Target then and buy it from there if th
e price there is what you desire IMO. Anyways back to March Madness....

For people with Reward Zone memberships, it's much better to price match and still get the Reward Zone points. Don't really understand what the problem is . . . how can one abuse a stated policy that is clearly advertised?

How do you abuse something the stores TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN DO? They want my business bad enough to price match competitors, fine, I'll take advantage of that because I'm not put on this Earth to keep corporations and their shareholders wealthy or to put their kids through college or help pay off that third house in Florida.

Are you wealthy? Maybe you have a ton of disposable income and you drive an H2 fifty miles to and from work without blinking an eye. If that's the case, I don't expect you'd ever understand the price matching mentality.

It comes down to this: if they don't want people to price match, they shouldn't have a price matching policy in place. Simple as that.

Most stores, when doing exchanges for packaged movies/music/games/etc, will reopen the product at the customer service counter before letting you leave with it (to stop people from doing exactly what was suggested).

Your best bet, if you're really that pissed with the principle, would be to talk to the store manager. Make sure to bring a printout of the price online, make sure he knows you're angry and that you don't plan to shop at the store (or online) again if the pricing issue isn't resolved and you may get somewhere.

Worst comes to worst, at least you'll know if the store can be reasonable. If not, maybe you really should take your shopping dollars elsewhere.

what's even easier is to go in and have BB or CC pricematch the target.com website. Then take that new unopened one in with your Target receipt and return it there. Simple as that.

I was VERY surprised to see my Best Buy devoting an entire section of the the new releases to I Am Legend on Blu-ray. Since they've expanded the movie section to cover where the video games used to be (the games were all moved to where the CRT TVs used to be), this will hopefully mean a larger in-store presence for Blu-ray.
