With BD Live its supposed to be able to update the trailers to the current ones on any blu-ray or so they say.

Oh sure. While they are at it, let's have studio bug logo's in the corner of the screen.

If I EVER get a movie with that assonine bug logo in the corner, the movie goes back. Plus I will never buy another movie from that studio... period.

Same goes for commercials. If you need a break that is why we have a pause button.

I'm spiteful enough where if I see something like a bug logo on a disc or commercials, the disc is going back and I'm going to steal that media instead. This is coming from a guy that owns 300 CDs and doesn't download music aside from iTunes, and buys full-price games over used (except EA games because the whole "Bad Company" thing can eat a fat one) just so developers get money. The whole "no menu option while 6 trailers are playing" on a $40 blu-ray disc had me pretty close, and if it continues I'm sure I'll crack soon.

And I remember commercials on VHS, especially that Pizza Hut kid in left field who caught the ball and was rewarded with pizza. I always wondered if he would've gotten pizza (instead of a beating) if he dropped it.

Just to augment a bit, I never thought I would actually see Coke, Pepsi commercials in the theater where I am paying THEM to watch 20 minutes worth of their commercials before we even get to the Movie Previews (which I love by the way).

Now on Cable when selecting free movies and TV shows, I see commercials before the movie or TV show starts and in between the TV show. True its free, but I never thought in a million years anyone would be showing commercials in theaters either... For what its worth.

VHS used to have commercials before movies. It's odd that DVD has never embraced that. I'm glad that it never has, however.
Yeah I remember those. Just like on the Batman VHS where Alfred and Batman advertise diet Coke (or Pepsi, can't recall) before the movie.

It would be annoying to have Non skipable commercials with trailers to follow.

I can see it now on the future BD release of "A Christmas Story".

*Pops BD in* "Get you pump action Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun before the holiday season. Guarenteed not to shoot your eye out!"

Thumbs down

commercials = loss of time and money, you do a great product, people will buy it ; it's just used to trick (= lie) people with weak mind to buy their product, there's no interesting information (most of the time the ad talks about sometjing else), you just see the brad name ... sometimes there's some art quality though, that should be used another way
