While I find the practice of putting these sleeves on Blu-Rays obnoxious, as I'm positive that it's simply for marketing purposes, to make it stand out on the shelf; similar to the late 90s when computer software would come in an enormous box with a single cd at the bottom, I simply throw it away...

I like 'em: they keep the cases from getting damaged (since the cardboard sleeve takes the brunt of the damage). For example, if I slide my Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl out from its sleeve it looks brand new still. But if I take a look at Casino Royale, it looks fairly well used (small scratches/scuffs on the plastic case from being moved around).

I want every Blu-ray to have a normal Blu-ray case, or a varient of, like Planet Earth, or Blade Runner.
No cardboard for me thanks. ![]() |

I rather like the sleeve. They give my collection a sophisticated look.

Hate is a strong word, but I take them off because I prefer uniformity.
Much to my wife's dismay I keep the slipcovers. I don't know why. I'll never put them back on the movies, but yet, for some reason, the idea of throwing them away bothers me. I'm actually beginning to think I have a very mild case of OCD . . . I find myself doing some weird things for the sake of organization and peace of mind. |

![]() I hide the slipcovers away even if I'll never look at them again, but I just can't bring myself to toss them out. Any media I have in a case (cd, dvd, ESPECIALLY blu) has to be centered. The worst part of it is my wife doesn't care, and it bothers me that she doesn't center them when she puts them back in the jewel case so I'll fix them. Worse yet, I even have to center the disc when I return a rental to blockbuster. I have issues. ![]() |

I have never understood why companies do that in the first place. Just give me my Blu-ray movie, and a normal plastic case please. I really only care about what is on the disc, personally.
I suppose I could ditch it all, save for the discs, then LOL! ![]() |

Yea but like on the Transformers HD DVD you have to keep the slip because it has the only name and info on it. Hope Paramount doesnt do this when they re release it!
